Sweet. Nice bump on the FSB for the entry level DFI 975x mobo via the bios update. Maybe a bit more out of the "deluxe" DFI 975x when it arrives?

Any chance we can see 9x435 or more soon? Boots up at 435 right? No Windows based FSB OC software correct?

Nice results, Coolaler! What do you thinks is the best conroe OC motherboard now?

4mb cache :ASUS w64 pro ? <-- i didnt see that board doing as high as the P5B. or did i miss some new overclocks on the Pro ?

i see people claiming 500mhz cold bootable from the bios on a 6600 with the P5B.
i dont know though seems pretty odd.. i dont see everyone screaming to go buy that board :\

I'd buy the P5B if it wasn't a 965 chipset and didn't allow me to run multiple GPU's. It would be nice if the results of the P5B would fall over into the P5W.

On topic...I think it's rediculous how every BIOS update we start seeing more of the actual potential of our CPU's. I wish someone would just get it right directly out of the box. Well at least we know that most problems are going to be BIOS related and not so much hardware related.

I want to see what people can get with this BIOS once it comes out tomorrow. It still seems like a decent affordable board. If we can get some low to mid 400's I'll be happy. Bring on more results!

1066 or 1333 strap ? Can you test it against Asus P5W-DH with the CPU & Ram at same speeds with this new BIOS? 10x

the p5wdh deluxe is the best oc mobo... but that will change once dfi finalizes the Lanparty UT... and launches it

Andre Yang did 470+ FSB with no mods on Asus WS PRO, and it is the fastest @ 32m pi.

965 boards are very slow in 32m pi.

I am running 8 x 450 on this board, with no troubles at all.
even boots at 470 and clockgens up to 480 before it freaks out.
this is with the 4:3 divider.
I see however, that your able to run 4:5 and get it stable at over 950 mhz.

for me, the 950 mhz wall for ram, is the biggest obstacle I have for this board.

any other mode besides 4:3 is impossible with this board.
hopefully this new bios addresses that.

The P5W is defenitly not the best overclocking motherboard out right now. The P5B is much better and the Asus server boards are probably better as well. The biggest issue with the P5B is it doesn't support any Multi-GPU setup like the P5W. But that fact doesn't somehow make up for it not reaching as high clocks as the P5B.

I might get this board after all. If all I need is 3.4Ghz on my e6400 I could effectively run my RAM at 850ish on this board right? Thats all I need to hold over till better boards surface.

The P5B is a intel 965 chipset and not a 975 chipset. I know how you feel as this gets confusing rather fast. It seems some 965 boards have been able to run SLI and others have not. I'm not sure which ones will but I now there aren't many. Rule of thumb though is a 965 chipset will not support Crossfire or Sli (even with hacked drivers) and a 975 board WILL support crossfire or Sli (w/ hacked drivers).
