Invite you all for a Computer Chess Benchmark!

I think you all like testing, maybe i can give you something new...a other way to bench your computers and that with chess!

It's like PI but i use chess calculations!

Go to this link and Download my map“Arena+TogaII.rar”

    http://www.cranox.com/Software/Arena/Arena.zip

Unrar and put the map somewhere
    1.Copy this FEN code:

    8/8/4B3/8/8/3K4/p2p4/kN1N4 w - - 0 5

    2.Start the program “Arena”
3.Imediately a 2nd window will pop up - "Cancel" this window!!
4.Press “F6” = Test position comes on the chessboard

5.Click on “Levels” and select “Infinite”
    6.Press space-bar

The chessprogram begins to calculate ,wait when you see in the 5th row “+M13”!!
Then you can click on “Stop” test is finised.
You can send your result with copy your screen or click on “Postions” and select
“Copy Analyses to clipboard” and you can just paste this result in a new message to me!

    Example picture:

    http://image012.mylivepage.com/chunk...t%203.6Ghz.png

Here you have the rating-list with there time finding the solution (Mate in 13 moves!) it's a little one...i can give you also more heavy tests!

I have no idea how to make this work... the instruction dont make sense to me...

"The command and conquer model," said the EA CEO, "doesn't work. If you think you're going to buy a developer and put your name on the label... you're making a profound mistake."

Your directions were slightly vague but I manage to figure it out. I think I got 59 sec if I'm reading it right.

    http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g1...e_24/chess.jpg

Edit: Let me break it down to Barney's level

    1. Run the program
    2. Imediately a 2nd window will pop up, copy & paste 8/8/4B3/8/8/3K4/p2p4/kN1N4 w - - 0 5 (to the search box) and click Load
    3. Then Hit F6
    4. Click on Levels > Infinite
    5. Hit spacebar
    6. Watch for +M13 on the fifth columns below then hit stop

This is a single treaded engine,my first idea was that people get use to the program..then i would go further with a second test...and that is with a Multi Processor Chess Engine! i get now here two results..in less days i get 47 result on a other forum...so i think the Xtreme people are not interesed in a test like this...
Look to Syne_24 and Mad_Man they did it perfect!

The main cause of it not being popular is because it's mainly not plug-and-plug. And, I think there are not many guys reading this section of XS. Most people come to submit or watch results of benchmarks, etc.

JP asked me to run this test so that he can try and use it to figure out what my "mystery systems" are.

I haven't gotten a chance to run it on "mystery system #1" yet, but I did get a chance to run it on "mystery system #2".
