Sweet. Reading it now.
Edit: Where's that sweet lookin black one like the one at HKEPC? Maybe this is the normal one, and the black one is the Crossfire one?
Wow. That's pretty sweet. If I had $200, I'd sell my XT for that. But alas, I am a jobless teenager.

Still, looks pretty tight for $399 right now, and should be a nice lower-cost alternative to G80 if you can go without DX10 support.

Do VR-Zone always break NDA? Or have they managed to get this out of NDA??

Shamino's got friends in high places.
I imagine that he doesn't break NDA's when the card is supplied to him by an AIB supplier or ATi themselves, but say if he doesn't join in the NDA and get a review sample, and someone who did hooked him up with the card...That'd be a nice work-around. I don't know for certain how he works his magic though.
That is all.

Not as impressive as I had hoped. I think I'll stick with my X1900XTX and wait for DX10..

didnt expect that kind of improvementWe see that the X1950XTX is 24% faster than the X1900XTX in 3D Mark 05 and 33% faster in 3D Mark 06. However, compared against the 7950GX2, the X1950XTX is 11% slower in 3D Mark 05 and 20% slower in 3D Mark 06. If 3D Mark is your cup of tea, the X1950XTX may not look as appealing as the 7950GX2, even though there is a significant improvement over the X1900XTX.
impressive

Hmm yes that's the trouble. But there is always those enthusiasts who want the fastest out there so I suppose ATI will be happy for a while with an excellent single cardOriginally Posted by CedricFP

I am pretty impressed, I had no idea that memory bandwidth alone would boost performance so much to overtake a 7950GX2.
Looks like there is at least 200MHz headroom on memory with the .9ns chips, hopefully more with voltage. Get those OCing software working now!!!!!

Wow.. Destroyed the 7950GX2 in all game settings tested. Thats pretty damn impressive if you ask me. So that means: 2xG71s < 1xR580+
Was not expecting this to even come close to the 7950GX2 game performance.. even benchmark numbers are an impressive increase over the x1900XT. 13.3k stock in 05? Shows how much bandwidth the r580 really needs.
This will definitely be a killer in Crossfire then. I wonder how high a Conroe needs to be OCed before 3dmark05 starts leveling off with stock crossfire.

Think im gonna upgrade to an x1950xtx instead of jumping on a DS3+E6300.
Then 4 months from now I will get a RD600+E4300

sorry, I Didn't notice this thread and started another in the 3D section of the forum. Feel free to erase it someone, please.
Anyhow, I am curious how much cooler this card would do with a paste change. I don't think ATI is using anything any different than previous cards in terms of thermal paste so I hope some AS5/Ceramique will offer a couple more degree difference.
I am glad the cooler is quiet in default and low speeds but still dissapointed it's loud at full volume as that is what most of us are going to be running to keep temps low when overclocking and gaming for long hours on end. I was hoping this would be Accelero X2 style in silence but I guess not. Glad to see it keeps the card cool however.

I would also imagine that ATI is quite pleased by this breaking of NDA... gains quite a bit of marketing for ATI with no effort on their part, especially considering how well it performsOriginally Posted by turtle
And you really don't need to run the fan at 100%... Shamino said 3k is a good compromise: still silent but moves tons of air.
