SOB on an OPTE 165!! BMarks

So i decided to put my OPTE 165 on some SOB to see how bad AMD really was.

My results are not too much of a surprize, but AMD is not really that bad.

    My OPTE 165 @ 2715 and 1Gb BH5 @ 247Mhz (2-2-2-5)
I get 333XXXX on each core.

    My 2.4Ghz Northwood @ 2875 and 256mb crap @ 167Mhz gets 333XXXX also

So clock for clock AMD is slightley better but Intel's clock WAY higher.

I am guessing that bandwidth has almost nothing to do with speed in SOB, just like in D2OL. Speed in SOB is all about the CPU Mhz's

If you got an AMD to spare, put in on some SOB.

Empepe left us with some results also http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...44#post1580444. It seems that you need 512 kb cache to have luck with this however. Cellys at >4gig don;t get huge results and I'm guessing its because of 256 cache. Prime95 said that 512 is needed really. I believe if this is the case then better ram settings WILL help if you have a celly for example. However in terms of SOB and AMD's, althought the OPTY does OK if I had it I'd be going rosetta with it. You get more overall DC value with it. But hey.... its up to the individual.

I am trying to improve our standing in other projects and our DC-vault standings.

If you want to help me in SOB, QMC, or eOn i would appreciate the help.

So a dual-core A64 scores about as much as one core on a Conroe.

yes you run 2 instances of e0n on a dual core.

only proble is work is not always avaliable for eOn. What i do is run 2 x SOB on a DX and 2 x eOn so when there is no work for eOn, SOB picks up the extra power.
