    New Bios released

Version 3002, so now our best beloved motherboard has 2010 year in bios date, like modern 1156 models

    ftp://ftp.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/Socke...eluxe-3002.zip

PS. Maybe for 1155 ASUS will make something P8W Deluxe
    3.8 GHz Corei 5 750, Gigabyte P55-UD3R, Geforce GTX 295 896MB.

Greetings, this may be a long shot; but its worth a try. I've recently updated to windows 7 x64 and i'm noticing my usb transfer rates are disgustingly slow; could this possibly be caused by a mobo driver issue? Thank you in advance

I would have to guess no. But I guess anything is possible. Did you make sure the jab settings in bios are set to high speed?

Other then that no... if you upgraded try doing a fresh install. 20 does not sound that bad especially if the external drive is getting full... hard to tell. Win 7 should install the latest drivers but you could always try intel direct for chipset drivers... doubt that will do anything.

    Unhappy Raid0 problem

    Really need help on this:
I have 2 drives on the Asus EZBackup (SIL4723) in Raid0 configuration, and other 3 drives on Intel ICH7 configured as non-raid. Because I don't want to mess up with the Raid, I unplugged the 2 drives from EZBackup (SIL4723) ports and I was trying to install the OS on a SSD drive conected to first port of ICH7. I succeded only after I modified the ICH7 controller to AHCI mode. After that, I was reconnect the 2 drives of Raid0, and boooooooooooom....the raid was gone. I must mention that I did not touch the SIL4723 jumpers. The only thing with I mess up was the setting for ICH7 in bios. Could that blow away my Raid0?The real problem is that the RAID0 I have a lot of material that is critical to recover it somehow.

Even now P5W is very strong setup, with dual core 45 nm, such as E8500 running at 3.8GHz, and NVIDIA Geforce GTX 570 or Radeon 6970. Keep in mind, then board was released, there was only Geforce 6800 Ultra and Radeon X850XT, new cards are 10 times faster and work fine with this board.

With Quad cores and next generation cards or upcoming dual GPU cards, board will work even faster

I think it's very sad, try different BIOS settings, maybe RAID will work, but the chance is not big, also your setup is rare, so few or even nobody really know much aboit it. For the future: always, not, ALWAYS, backup critical data to other HDD, DVD, USB HDD and so on. Maybe you mistake and connected one HDD, priviosly connected to one port, to another, and RAID can be destroyed.

Did you use a boot disk with afudos, or did you flash with the BIOS ezflash or in windows? I Forgot how crashfree 3 works...I think you need the original asus dvd inserted, and maybe a PCI video card?

    I forgot, sorry.
If you can get the board to start, please flash with afudos and the bios BIN file, NOT in windows and not in ezflash!

Board can't start? You need a floppy disk with P5WDH.ROM file (rename your BIOS to it), then board, if it has working boot block, will flash this BIOS.
CD/DVD and FAT formatted USB drive (ASUS sad that 4-8GB or smaller drives only will work, but my 16GB drive works too) also can be used, but in some cases floppy is last chance.

Also you can try to press ALT+F2, it's a key to start flashing at boot up. If your board is working you also can use it to flash new BIOS.

Something bad happened to my DH Deluxe. BIOS errors like no fan detected, then several HIT F1 to Continue ones. Finally it refused to boot, and just turns back off after a few seconds with a loud relay click.

My options are few: I *need* to bring this machine back up even if I do get a i7 system going to eplace it. Has anyone got a DH Deluxe on a shelf they want to sell? OR, what else in a 775 board comes close to what it had, since PATA and a bunch of SATA ports are important...

Did you try to clear the cmos? I assume yes but have to ask the obvious... Are you sure your PSU is not on the blink, in other words have you ruled out all other possible hardware problems...

No to both ideas. I haven't pulled it apart yet since the symptoms seemed far too serious. Having the main fan speed stop reporting in then having other bad Hit F1 to Continue errors and finally no boot at all made me think I was dead. I'll get more diagnostics soon but the offer to pick up a 1.04 board willstill apply since that'd be an upgrade anyway...

asus p5ne has 2 ide sockets on it which makes it fairly unusual. Mine was clocked at 3.2ghz

I'd strip it down before declaring it dead including removing the battery for a day. I tried everything bar removing the drive cable once, turns out it was the simplest thing

Another machine we have freezes on boot if a certain usb port is used. Take it out and it carries on, use the port in windows and no problem

W7 should have all necessary drivers already, as long as you aren't using the wireless or dh remote features. I never needed the CD in windows 7 at all. There are some Vista/W7 drivers on Asus page, though.
