    My guess is that's i't's the rather high Vmch that allows you to run 4:5 at 400 FSB.

    It's simply not possible on my board either, no boot with 400FSB/DDR 1000 set in bios, not even with 1.65Vmch and 2.35Vdimm 4-4-4.

    I am having problems trying to install Raid0 using Intel Matrix Storage Manager.

    These are the following steps i done.
    1. Enable Raid in bios
    2. Ctrl+I to create a new raid
    3. F6 durning the begining of installing window xp
    4. For some reason it was unable to find my USB floppy disk
    5. If i try to skip installing the Intel Matrix Storage Manager (F6) during the window xp setup, there will be blue screen.

    Inputs please.

    and I guess you're right.
    I've tried Pencil Mod on V-mch But i don't have tried 4:5 i only searched the max stable fsb 438 in sig whit a real voltage of 1,6 v. ( whitout vmod drop's up to 0,1...)
    Now i've burned my mobo misuring whit multimeter ...
    Warranty bring to me a new mobo, but the revision is te same of the first

    Kadinho,

    Could you tell us your voltages and settings in bios please?

    Is it bios 1901 that allows this only?

    here are mine:

    vcore-1.2250
    vmem-2.2
    vmch-auto
    vfsb-1.5
    vihc-auto
    bios-1707

    you will ask about the high vfsb, I´ve tested with lower voltages and I got errors in orthos right after I start it, the only way to solve them was giving more juice to the vmch (1.55 -1.65).
    but I choose to running this way (high vfsb & default vmch)

    Can't boot from USB or use (Alt + F2) with bios 1901

    Has anyone else got an issue booting from USB drives with bios 1901, i have five USB pen drives and when i updated to bios 1901 i could no longer boot from any of my USB pen drives, all i get is a message on the screen saying "Missing Operating System", if i go back to any bios previous to 1901 i can then boot from USB.

    Also with 1901 i can't use the "ASUS Crash Free" feature (Alt + F2) to recover the bios, it doesn't detect any CD ROM it just goes in to a loop saying that it's looking for CD/Floppy or USB, when i use a USB pen drive it finds the bios file (P5WDH.ROM) and says it's reading the file, but then it just sits there doing nothing.

    Has anyone else had any of these issues with bios 1901 or am i the only one?

    Thanks!

    So, even with the newer BIOS, no one has managed to use all the SATA ports as stand-alone units?

    Connecting drives to the orange ports for me results in the system locking up within 10 seconds of POST completing......and i am not seeing any JBOD options anywhere....

    Any help would be appreciated

    [QUOTE=Iannis]Hi Guys

    With BIOS 1506 boot at 385 FSB max
    With 1707 at 370 and
    With 1901 at 365 not stable

    With the same setting:
    Vcore = 1.6125
    Vmem = 2.4
    FSB = 1.5
    MCH = 1.85
    ICH = 1.20

    PCI-e frequency = 115
    Performance mode = Turbo

    The highest fsb that I can go is 420 ONLY from Windows with SetFSB tool
    From BIOS 1909 3650 not stable
    Whyyyyyyyyyyy????/QUOTE]

    Have same experience as you, my friend, and will probably revert back to BIOS 1506 or 1601 which seems to be the most OC friendly one's from my point of view. Also noted that with 1901 I usually get BSOD as of 1000 MHz on my G.Skills with 4-4-4-4 and are now forced to run at 4-4-4-5. All settings equal...

    With regard to suggestions you can try reducing PCI-e to 101 and set Performance mode to standard. Apart from that there is not really much to say except the following; DONT EVER BUY THIS PILE OF CRAP!

    There is no such thing as a stupid question, in my opinion, and I still regard myself a NOOB in every aspect and situation available. I have disabled Hyperpath and followed every advice in this thread (and similar threads) and experimented with new settings. But in my experience, the later BIOS's are less FSB friendly all settings equal. That's just the way things are over here too...

    Yeah, you do need high Vmch, but you did the volt mod already right ?
    Anyway, you are runnin' your e6400 @ 438FSB , why bother with 400FSB and 4:5 ?? If you meant to run the memory @ ddr 1100 on 438FSB, that's gonna be tough. I'd be balling my eyes out if you could do that. If my memory serves me well, the best I could do was ddr1030 (412FSB ) even with top rated D9 sticks.

    He's using a 2:3 divider on 350FSB to hit ddr1000+. I don't think it needs much VMCH for that.
    It starts getting tricky when approaching 400FSB.
    My own observation shows vmch=1.65 is adequate for up to about 380 ( i.e. ddr950 ), 1.75 pushes just a bit more, but still not enough for ddr1000.
    Actually I was under the impression that vmch=1.85 plus pc8000 D9 memory would warrant DDR1000+ at 400FSB+, but judging from monza's post, I guess I was wrong.

    Hey!! Whait a minute ther is a Mistake:
    Sorry for my poor english i'm saing that mine ( my ) was a stupid question... because everyone know that "Yperpath3" need to be disabled.. you got it?

    aniway if you are using a QX ( Quad core ) the Fsb you are hitting with tis mobo is good, if you want higer fsb P5b deluxe or commando ( all the intel 965 ) are the choice
    Or you can try whit vmch mod.

    thanks for response

    I've hitting the 438 FSB @ 1:1 whit my death mobo ( vmch pencil mod ) but I don't have tried 4:5 @ 400 mhz fsb whit Her...

    Now the new one isn't modded and is stable @ 420mhz 1:1...and I've advised that 400 fsb 4:5 ram isn't possible..
    obviously vmod coming soon

    9x390 mem 1:1 is max for me. The board rev is 1.02 and NB is watercooled. Tried 9x395, but prime rebooted after two hours. Increasing vcore didn't help. Now I'm trying to stabilize mem 4:5. This is with bios 1707.

    Settings:

    vcore 1.475
    vmem 2.2
    vfsb 1.4
    vmch 1.65 (board's max)
    vich auto

    Running async seems to put more strain on the NB hence the Vmch question.
    I can run up to 9x 430 1:1 100% stable but 9x400 with 4:5 divider won't even boot.
    I have a gut feeling that higher Vmch will help.

    For 400 FSB i'm using 1.55Vmch, that's fully stable.

    everything's back up and working.. yay

    Hey all,

    I got my new g.skill pc2-6400c4's and ran a bunch of superpi tests last night with both 1:1 and 4:5 using both the g.skill 6400's and the corsair pc2-8500c5's (at 4-4-4-12) with the maximum fsb's I could handle.

    I'll include screenshots of some cpu-z's and my superpi scores, but I was surprised that there was really only tenth of seconds differences between them at similar clocks. Unfortunately I wasn't able to reach any higher stable clocks than ~384fsb in both 1:1 and 4:5 (~975mhz mem) at 4-4-4-12 6-28. So I guess since I've ruled out memory and northbridge (since I got the thermaltake extreme spirit 2), it must be my pos cpu.

    What surprises me though is that I get better overall performance at 4:5 at a slightly lower clock than I would at 1:1. I thought that 1:1 was supposed to be the best? Either way, I'm content now.

    I honestly don't know what happened to my corsair pc2-8500c5's to cause them to flip out on Monday because they're working perfectly now in either set of dimm slots on the motherboard. I gave it 20 minutes in memtest86 with no errors, where the one time last week it would scroll thousands of errors per second.

    Anyone want to buy a month old set of corsair pc2-8500c5's from me, only slightly used, and in perfect working order? I can take pics of successful memtest and show my highest clocks in both 1:1 and 4:5. Please send PM.

    I'll post pics and stats and stuff in another thread outside this one since these dimms are a bit finicky with this board and would work much better in an nvidia 680 or rd600 board.

    I have a gut feeling that higher Vmch will help.

    hello all,

    ok, i ve not been on that topic for a while, ad i got a couple of questions :

    - is it better to use 1:1 synchro FSB/DRAM or not ?
    - what is the behavior of the P5WDH when using 4 sticks of ram ?

    Before i was using 2x1Gb of Gksill PK with the following config. :
    fsb 402 / Vdram 2.0v / 1.65 / 1.20 / 1.30 / RAM at 1:1 4-4-4-12

    I just added one more Gb (2x512Mb) of the same PK serie.
    System will post, but i get memory errors. When using RAM at lower speed (301Mhz) but still with FSb at 402Mhz, i still got errors.

    I tried the sticks individually, all is ok.
    I tried a fsb of 375Mhz with a ratio of 1:1, all seems to be ok.
    Mobo won't get high fsb with synchro RAMs ?

    4gb requires more chipset voltage(MCH) than 2gb, and hence your errors.
