Can you change the multi like in the Gigabytes?
No multi change, infact CPUz is saying I'm running at 6X on a e6700 I'm at like 1.6ghz, here we go...
I7 920@4ghz
EVGA Classified X58
6GB Corsiar 1600
2X GTX 285@756/1550/2700
Corsiar 1000WT
ASUS 25.5 LCD/58"Plasma TH-58PZ800U
Custom H2O cooling

Oh, thats a pic of my other rig.
i cant answer 100% cause i dont have mine yet but 99.99% you can adjust multi down but on unlocked x6800 you should be able to adjust it up and down
hmm that isnt right what bios is the board, do you remember or do you have to restart
are you still on the 601 BIOS or have you upgraded to the 711? It might just be a weak BIOS that you have.
Multi changes aren't available on the Asus' either...so MSI might have taken the Asus stingey route and blocked downward multis as well.
sorry for posting so much but also does the nb have active cooling hsf or is it just a hs

for the multipler problem, you need to disable something in bios. its kinda like CnQ for AMDs but this is Intel's. maybe someone can help me find the word.

Well, I don't know for sure what the cpu is running at. Windows is telling me 2.6, cpuz is saying 1.6. I ran Aquamark and scored 14500 on cpu and 24700on gpu. Thats higher than my old A64@3ghz so I don't know what to think. The bios chip says 700

well what does it say at startup for bios
If SpeedStep is turned on, the CPU will drop to the 6 multiplier at idle. That's normal. It should show the correct speed under load. If it doesn't, then you really may be using the 6 multiplier. You can always double-check with another program like CrystalCPUID.
SpeedStep is often referred to as EIST (Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology).

I have a concern for this mobo. My Corsair RAM is rated at 2.2v and I have heard the MSI board RAM voltages default to 1.9v? Will this cause a POST problem when I get the board?

PSU Corsair HX620
My ram is rated at 2.1 volts and it posted with 1.9. I can't really see what bios it is on screen, the damb board boots faster than even my DFI did. Pissing me off trying to see what bios I have. I turned speed step off and the cpu still drops to 6X. Tryed running 1to1 with 333FSB and 1.38 volts and she black screened on me. Turned power off and the board recoved easy. I see this is going to take someone who knows what the hell they are doing to get this board overclocking and that person is not me, lol.

possibly just like the ds3 which did 1.8v stock but 1.9v is better than the 1.8v, i think rodman fell asleep ive asked him a few times for specs and pics nothing yetOriginally Posted by ScottFern

I don't have the MSI board, though I may try it out soon. I've used several other Conroe boards including the Asus P5W DH, the P5B Deluxe and the Intel Bad Axe. I have Kentsfield and a 6600ES.Originally Posted by aiya

is 1.38 volts stock, i would up it to 1.4v maybe 1.45v
but if it really is only at 6x, it shows that way in cpuz
and like sierra_bound

I wonder if better cooling on the northbridge will help with that at all? I plan on using an aftermarket HS and a fan to mount on it.Originally Posted by rodman
