I am going to hang on to what I have now and am definitely going to try an E6400 later on a mature board.

He was only able to get 360 FSB with the 6x multiplier on the e6700, but when he used e6600 with the same board he git 500 fsb? Maybe it is this specific CPUs problem then?

hiya mike yes it seems the step 5 es chips intel sent out its premium silicon to be reviewed as i have been looking around and it seems none of the retail conroes can match the step 5 b1 conroe es, i have just got a e6700 es step 5 to replace my e6600es step 5 as i have the dfi infinity and the motherboard itself has a 400fsb wall

    so no matter what u get , 6700 , 6600 they are all around 3.5 , 3.6GHz..

hmmm, that makes my E6400 3.4GHz kinda worth it

i think with better board we can get much closer to 4GHz with good air/watercooling

hell, fcg could only get to 4.5GHz with E6700 ES5 !!! ES5, thats liek better than retail, also he has phase change cooling ...

6400 seems to be the best bang for the buck right now. E6600 being stuck at 360 fsb limits me too 3.2 ghz.

actually have to revise myself again,

finally getting the Retail 6700 to boot up to 4.4GHZ ( 440FSB ) without pushing too hard on a single stage on the Badaxe - had corrupted the clockgen on the BadAxe earlier and jumped to wrong conclusion.
