MSI 975X Platinum in stock at ZZF

The board that coolaler dominated on for so long is now in stock at ZZF.
    http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=249607

It does not explicitly list Core 2 Duo support on the ZZF site however the board has been out of stock for months and the fact that it just came back now is an indicator that they are probably now conroe ready.

    MSI Page: http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p...m_V.2&class=mb

The MSI P965 Neo is also instock for only $115, however this board does not have good overclocking options

Yeah, before ordering that, I'd do whatever I could to find out from ZZF if this is the "Powerup Edition." That's the one Coolaler was using. ZZF's page on this 975 board goes to the RoHS compliant board, not the Powerup Edition board.

Torkain is right, it even links to the regular platinum edition. You need the powerup edition to support conroe.

it's also in stock at mwave for a lot less, 175, plus shipping, and mwaves search for core 2 duo boards pulls it up, so that would lead me to believe it is the power up edition

The powerup edition is only on MSI's global site. In the USA the MSI 975X Platinum V2 supports Conroe

wow just looking at the picture of that board hurts my eyes.
its like those optical illusion drawings where you see nothing then turn your head and see jesus's face.
wow that board has alot on it.

was kinda hoping to see more than 5 sata ports.

MSI has always been one of those companies to put fans on thier chipsets when others dont. i sure wish they had done it this time cuz the 975/965 chipsets get just crazy hot.

230 for a 975x board not bad but still. prices of these new boards has just gotten out of hand.
everyone use to complain that the dfi baords were expensive. not any more. they are cheap by comparison.

well ill wait to hear more from you guys and other websites before i blow any more money on intel chipset boards.

i've always loved msi products so im keeping my fingers crossed.

got my 975x Platinum v.2 straight from my supplyer 2 days ago, too bad my conroe isnt here yet so i cant test it

if you guys need another place to buy this board ncix.com is selling it now and it properly labels it as Platinum v.2 so no doubts about what your getting there.

btw board ships with bios 6.0 and they already have a newer 7.0 bios out, not really sure what they changed tho.

If you don't have a conroe, do you have any other CPU? And NCIX seems kind of expensive compared with Mwave . I think I will wait until I see this board on other sites. Does anyone have any OC results for this board?

Yep. Some folks think I'm nuts, but I really like my bad axe. Go figure.

That said, I think I'm gonna try the Asus P5W or this MSI board just for giggles. The Bad Axe is rock stable but a PIA to tweak.

When you click on the link, below the special features listing it says:

    (aka: 975X Platinum PowerUp Edition)

So they're saying rev2 is the powerup edition?
    Edit: they are the same

I know there are 2 versions at the site you listed above the powerup has passive cooling on the chipset, same as mwave's picture. And the nonpowerup has a fan on the chipset. They are both listed as RoHS compliant.
