It come with the case.. It's called the "Wind tunnel". I think the newer TJ06 shipped have a smaller marking.. This Patent marking bore me a bit.

I had to cut it to fit the Scythe Mine cooler, but it really work. One 120mm on the front and one 120mm on the rear really move some air over the ram and the cpu (even the chipset like that) Both fan shipped with it move 54cfm and are silent. (add 43cfm for the HSF, I think the CPU is happy.) It give me about -5C less under load with it.

It's a great case. Some flaw, but I love it. (and much cheaper than Lian li)

    Sorry for the french language.

Btw Asus have released a new bios (0211) which is supposed to give better overclock for Conroe CPU. But it makes impossible to overclock my Celeron (couldn't even get 135Mhz fsb !) back to 0170 bios and I'm at 170fsb stable (22x multi)

I have sent a ticket to Asus.

P5B non-deluxe thread and overclocking "support group"

Just felt like starting a P5B thread.
Mine is coming soon (aug 9/10th) with an Allendale e6300+Corsair PC5400 4-4-4-12 1.9v ram
Latest official bios is 0211 7/31 Beta 0213 can be found from a link posted by an asus forum member who uploaded his given to him from Asus:

It wasn't working before..it works now but hard to differentiate between p5b and deluxe.
But thanks anyways for showing me this thread.
Vric, is the NB heatsink 40 or 50mm?
Also are you getting an allendale or conroe?
Also tell my when you flash the 0213 beta bios you got...don't be afraaaiid
What's also great about this board from reading the manual is all the bios safety and recovery stuff, and you can flash through a USB storage device.

    50mm

    Conroe E6600

I didn't flashed to 0213.. I had bad experience with 0211 not allowing me to overclock at all. So I'm running 0170 right now.

Bios recovery after bad overclock don't work (yet) I have to clear Cmos every time an overclock fail.

Asus Support piss me off right now. I don't have any big problem, but they take forever to reply and them they simply give a generic answer like "buy a new bios chip blablabla..)

I bet they don't even speak english or their computers are as slow as the ones they use for Asus's site heheh. What bites also is that it uses an AMI bios which has low support for bios modding compared to the award bios.
Thanks for that info, I ordered the only one that came with screws:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835119052
From the NB heatsink picture it looks like it's begging to get screwed :d.

Well I got my e6300 today. I played with the settings for hours.
With original bios it hit a wall at 385FSB. With the 0213 beta bios you uploaded I hit 400fsb and 2.8ghz and booted with ram set at 533 (its actuall a divider it sets fsb/ram 1:1 so 400fsb=pc800 ram). But it could not do super pi higher than 1M (20 seconds I got). I was getting Idle temps of 51c with 400fsb . Maybe my AS5 needs to set in well. I'm not sure if its my ram or heat holding me back.
The hsf is better than stock, it's a cooler master Hyper L3, I left it at max rpm (3000). I disabled any throttling, legacy usb, and q-fan control to hit 400fsb.
My ram handles 800mhz at 4-4-4-12 though my system restarts when I play BF2.
I'm at 2.6ghz 372fsb now stable. Idle:47c Load:53 and my NB never goes above 34c on load cause I removed the pink bubble gum and used AS5.
I toof of the cpu fan and tried the spread method for the silver paste and it made it worse. I applied a smaller bead in the middle of the spreader and my temps went down 1c. Guess it's better to let it spread by pressure.
I ran two apps of cpu burn-in 1.01 to get cpu usage to 100%.

thanks for report. That confirm the overclocking bug of 0211 is only with 533 fsb cpu (celeron or 805)

also for the chipset temp, don't trust PC Probe. The temperature are off by 10C-12C when I test with my real thermal probe.

10-12c NB or CPU or both? Are you sure they aren't fixed in new bios?
"hat confirm the overclocking bug of 0211 is only with 533 fsb cpu" you mean the cpu's low fsb is holding you back right.
Either way it's not a bad o/cing board. I searched everywhere and the only people reporting o/cing probs with the Dexule when they hit a wall before 400mhz fsb (which I think is fixed in new bios).
So story short I CAN hit 400mhz and prolly even more and get it to boot windows.
Problem is it's not stable, could be due to my ram (though I heard corsair pc5400 can hit pc6400 easy), no mobo voltage, or plainly I need to let the arctic silver 5 settle.
I played more games and did more more burin in tests last night and I'm stable at 2.6ghz with max load being 54c using sisopht media/arthmetic burn-in.
I did lower the vcore to get temps down. I'm at 1.5v now. The vcore is messed up.
When U boot with windows at auto vcore and 266fsb then change it to 1.7v it will show 1.48v on probe. If you boot at 385fsb and 1.7v into windows the first time you can get probe to show 1.6v. I think the bios has some kinda AI (though I did turn it all off in bios or I couldn't even go past 320fsb).
I wish Asus shipped it with an award bios. O well I'm happy with this board.

i was hoping that i could suggest crossflashing this board with a p5b/dlx bios.. they both use 8mbit bios..
but the boards seem to be a little bit too dissimilar..
if i'd have a p5b and a spare 8mbit bios chip, i'd try it for sure.
    but not without a backup

People running 533Mhz fsb cpu (Celeron or 805) with 0211 bios can't overclock at all. Choosing 135Mhz FSB (only 2mhz increase) don't post.

    With bios 0170, no problem.

as for the temp, look on the front page. The Chipset run at 120F-130F (which is about 45C-50C) while Asus Probe show 34-38C.

I also found the Vcore a bit weird. Choosing 1.4V give 1.32V but it seem to be "normal". Now I'm at 1.425V and I have 1.37V (1.32V under load)

I'm still having headaches with this board - switching to OCZ ram got me over my hump at 320FSB, but now at 345 - 350 it doesn't fail prime, it just locks the machine up solid. Adding voltage hasn't helped. Thought it might be temperature, but tried with a Zalman 7700CU and a desk fan blowing into the case, no difference.

Have new ram coming next week, but I'm blaming the board at this point

if you have a probe. look for the temp of the chipset. Could be a problem.

Had a 100 CFM fan pointing right at it during all testing, the northbridge was lukewarm to touch (it was awfully hot before, though!)

e6300, Corsair DDR2-675 4-4-4-12 1.9v Give me your defualt ram specs. It's not the board, it's you either not feeding it right cooling/hardware or something in the bios settings you missed.

Default ram specs for Kingston valueram 667: 5-5-5-15, 1.80v

What was your CPU voltage at in the first pic? Can't make it out with the funny color it changes

Yeah, but shouldn't the 667 stuff be able to do 333 FSB, no matter how crappy? I was also running some OCZ PC8000 and still couldnt' get it stable above 340 or so

edit: I might need to send you an e-hug. I'm priming at 333 FSB right now, which used to die within about 30 seconds with this ram. I ended up changing Termination voltage to 1.30, PCI-E and PCI frequencies to auto... I wonder if one of those was what was causing me all the grief.

    *fingers crossed*
