    Question Need Help w/Power Supply

I'm upgrading the PSU to something w/a little more punch. Not sure what I need for a proper PSU. Have a P.O.S. Antec 300W that doesn't even put out 300W. Was looking to get @ least a 480W. Maybe the Antec True 480. I wasn't going to get a custom built job. I WAS hoping to get one w/some adjustable POTS on/in it. Also WAS hoping to keep the price down a little. Didn't want to spend more than $100-150 bucks. Saw that Antec had a 550 TruePower w/a 5.25 baybus to go in your case bay, & has adjustments for the individual rails & the fans for the PSU. Not too expensive. My biggest problem is even when I'm not overclocked, my 5v is below 4.9 . So it is causing a big problem when I'm overclocked. Plus I have to increase the voltage on the CPU to keep it stable. So zouup, down it goes. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Talking Sorry 'bout my earlier post........

Yea the lowest it gets w/OC'in is 4.86 . So I feel for ya. Did your PSU come w/your case? Mine did. I'm eventually gonna get a bigger case. Am using a Antec mid tower. Not quite a full server case but is very heavy w/all the :banana::banana::banana::banana: I have in it. Gonna use this one for the LAN parties. Also, what are you paying for that True550, & where did you get it? Let me know please, I'll be ordering one by Friday.

    Thumbs up Try Price Watch.com

Besides, Fry's is way more expensive then on-line. Plus you pay sales tax. I found a couple of places that sell them for around $100 bucks w/shipping. That's $30 bucks or so cheaper then Antec's web-site. Also even less then Fry's, I think.

Actually, what that B518 posted would help you. I suggest you learn what you are talking about before you accuse someone of ignorance

That PSU is a Antec 550, with adjustable pots mounted externally.

I however would go with a TTGI 520w psu, since they are cheap and reliable, also with adjustable pots.

Wink Actually I do know what I'm talking about....

If you think for a minute I hadn't already looked at the Antec web-site you're as ignorant as he is. Excuse me, I already have an Antec case w/PSU. I believe that was the first place I looked before I even came here to post a friggin question. I may be no expert, but I'm no idiot either. I understand that PSU has POTS to fully adjust the 3,5, & 12 volt rails. I was looking for the PSU you refered to at the end of your post. I am not able to find a web-site that has them, or the companies web-site.

    I posted a winky

    directron

BTW, you came off as the bad guy, since you fired off on that guy who took the TIME to find a link for YOU, because you never specified you had already looked at the Antec website.

Instead of flaming me, you should be apologizing to him.
