I have a Tt Toughpower 600w, is that tier 3 or tier 2? Just want to know for my next build. As it has been flawless, and want to know what tier to look in for the next build.

The 600W is one of the good ones, 550W is not.

No, not really. They have an inflated wattage(500W and above) models, they are built by Seventeam, they are older models, have poor efficiency and are rated at 25 degrees. The 430 PCAR/PCAP and 460W models are decent cheaper options, good value(at least in Aus).

They are one of the less series's though, the iGreen and Real Power Pro are much better.

EDIT: I don't know why the Silencer is rated above the Corsair HX, they are both high quality Seasonic builds, but the PCP&C is no better afaik, I believe the Corsair actually has the edge..

You're correct. The platforms are identical and, if anything, the Corsair does have the edge because of better component selection.

    Tier lists FTW!

Thanks! i tried using the PSU Calculator & it seems that 750w ain't gonna cut it, but i've seen a lot of rigs running Quad + SLI/CF + H20 on 620w which got me into thinking.

    1) PSU Calculators aren't always accurate, or even close to it.
    2) If yo entered your CPU as quad processor, don't, its still single processor.

    Helloa,

Was wondering if the Corsair VX450 can handle this:

    P35 chipset (budget version)
    Intel E6750
    2GB PC6400
    nVidia 9600GT-512MB Factory Overclocked
320GB harddisk and some other small stuff (2x 120MM fan and CPU fan)

Because i don't see it in the list, but the VX450 is a Seasonic build if i'm right.

    Thanks.

To be fair, Corsair PSU's that are not Seasonic are made by CWT and they're the same design, same build quality, etc.

There, fixed it for you. This tiered list on XS is just horrible....almost a joke. Corsairs not as good as PCP&C Silencers, even though they're practically the same power supply? Enermax Libertys a Tier One? Give me a break. And no updates for over a year? The list should be just taken down and trashed....makes as much sense as having what is up there.

Can anyone tell me how the Xigmatek PSU rate on these charts? They have some very nice specs and they are modular along with high wattage. The one I was looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817815003 has 4 12V rails but they even tell you that all four rails combined has a max output of 62A which aint too bad.

I was deciding on that or the PCP&C Silencer 750QB which Newegg has for 90 dollars off retail but the sale ends tonite at midnite. So which should I get, I really would like to have modular but if the components are crap in the Xigmatek then PCP&C it is! Thanks for any help!

Xigmatek PSU's aren't sold in Aus, so I don't know too much about them, so someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that unit is built by CWT, and is basically the same unit as the Thermaltake Tough Power 750W, so should be in the same tier as that..

Don't confuse the Real Power with the newer Real Power M/Pro.

But anyway as said heaps of times through out the thread, don't pay too much attention to the Tiers.
