New OCZ 1250 Watt unit: ZX1250W. Any info?

Supposedly a 92% efficiency at "typical loads" which I believe is the highest in the 1200w class. Newegg has them for only $210 with rebate:

I cannot find any reviews since this item just came out. You think it would be risky to purchase this "inexpensive" single-rail untested unit versus something like the tried and tested high quality multi-rail HCP-1200?

At that price, esp the MIR price, it can't be as good as the 1200W offerings from Antec, Corsair and Enermax.

I too am waiting for reviews not cause of the low msrp, The length (or depth) is what caught my attention for a 1250w!

It might not be a bad unit as it looks very similar to the Sparkle PSU made by Great Wall. Jonnyguru recently reviewed one and gave it an overall 9/10!

I'll have one tomorrow but it's difficult to get any meaningful scope data without a non-system static load. So not sure what info I can provide.

i'll wait for a johnnyguru review or go with the ax1200 to be safe. the sparkle gold 1250w review wasn't so bad for an unbranded company

I do not like OCZ PSU's performance history. However, I do like how clean of a design the modular cable ports look. I wish more PSU companies would make their layouts with easily readable rears.

i would wait for a review, but since ocz moved to the 2 rail systems in the lower end units they really turned it around and have good units. so i would expect good things from that unit once its reviewed.

    I found this review on kitguru.net http://www.google.be/url?sa=t&rct=j&...6WFc5Q&cad=rja

I bought it 4 days ago and i have a scratching noise, only when 3D application is running.

    this looks very similar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taQTZnobjnw

It is an annoying noise and mainly worrying because it makes me think something is damaged. i bought it 4 days ago...

Could someone explain me what is this noise ?

    thank you
