How many people are waiting out for RD600 boards ?

I'm pretty bored at work and was a little curious. I've been trying to wait out these fickle launch boards and see how the RD600 boards work out.

Who else has been coasting and just waiting for the first reports of the motherboards to pop up?

Also, does anyone have any cool "rumored" news about the boards (DFI?) that may not be known to many people.

I think dongleless Xfire will be a great addition.

    I'm back....

I'm gonna hit up the RD600 or DFI nF 590 SLi board when they're released, whiever is the best performer. For now, my incoming DQ3 will suffice. Hopefully I'll get my single stage at the same time as the new boards are released.

I will wait a while. I have hard time to trust non-Intel chipset for intel chip. I will wait for it to get more mature. I had too much bad experience with non-Intel early adopter chipset before.

I'm waiting for the RD 600!!
I'll buy a Conroe as soon as I can get one, and put it on a cheap AsRock or MSI.

The only RD600 board I've seen is that ECS board at computex. Haven't been paying attention to it so I don't know their release date.

Isn't end of August a bit soon to expect RD600 boards to hit the shelves since we haven't seen any previews at all? Or did I miss those too?

I'm waiting just so I have a choice in chipsets. Choosing between 975 and 965 isn't much choice... and I'm not expecting too much from the NVidia chipset.

I'm still looking for a board with more than one IDE connector!
The next time you're having a bad day, imagine this:
    You're a siamese twin.
Your brother, attached at your shoulder, is gay.
    You're not.
He has a date coming over tonight.
    You only have one ass.

I dont know how the RD600 will perform, it might be like the nForce4s or it might perform better than the 975x, who knows I think that im going to get a 975x.

I am looking forward to ANY board thats not a intel chipset.

I am already sick of having to droop mod every single intel board I've ever had since my first P4P-800.

on top of that, the 975 boards have almost no ability to recover from a failed OC, and require far too much clearing of the CMOS which makes them a hassle to OC with... regaurdless of how good the final results are, I want a higher level of stability for day to day use.
I am hoping either ATI or Nvidia can come through on that end.

so far though, the gigabyte 965, has been the best intel board I used so far.
it's not amazing at recovering from a failed OC, without having to clear the CMOS, but it sure does alot better then the 3 different 975X boards I tried so far...

but it's still got that damn droop on the VCore, and it seems impossible to get anyone to help find mods for these boards at the moment, since they just cost so damn much...

RD500 should be like what 570SLI is too 590SLi.
it will also come with SB600. but will offer a lot less PCIe lanes. only 8x/8x PCIe slots for vidcard en possibly no support for a third card for physix and many some other features like 2nd Gb lan cup out.

Well i was waiting impatiently for the RD600 but i think im at my limit of my connie anyway and with my asus, its only the cpu temps are stopping me running higher 24/7. I know the RD600 can run mem asynchronous but from what ive seen mem doesnt make that much difference.

Please let me know if RD600 will help me in any other ways than i have mentioned.

I've been looking forward to the RD600, but I may have to fold and get the P5W DH if I can't get my system to stablize for a while. I have friends offering to help make sure everything gets setup correctly with C2D, but I'm moving out on the 18th and it'll be a few months until I have that opportunity again. May have to just get the P5WDH and see if I can find a buyer later on to take it off when RD600 hits. Crossfire options are rather limited currently, and I need a system that works.

I think I'm going to buy the cheapest 965 board I can find, and then spring for a high end (LanPty?) RD600 board when it's available.

I'm hoping ATI does a good job and makes it low power (like the RS482 or something)... passive cooling without worries. nForce4 was so hot!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the chipset has anything to do with vdroop.. it's just the implementation of the power regulation for the CPU right? Same with BIOS recovery from poor overclocks. My old IC7 was amazing recovering from failed OCs...

Bottom line, I like ATI, nForce was too hot for passive, Intel chipsets were and still are pretty damned fast and impressive. Let's hope that ATI has learned from their mistakes on S939.

I'll be selling mine too I think (unless it takes me longer than I thought to get parts, in which case I'll just buy the board I want).
