Friend: Do you have a spare PSU lying around?
Me: No why?
Friend: My PSU just blew up, I think the second 8800GTX might have been too much for it to handle
Me: what PSU was that again?
Friend: Antec 480w
Me:........
When the TEAM JAPAN get rolling HARD on Conroe... with their 1M tuning, they will break into the 8's REALLY SOON, probably by the end of Aug. It will drop continuously over the next 4 months to get around 7.99 @ 6ghz+

I need a new pair of pants now.

nevertheles your estimating sounds right
doing disable one core from mobo is NOT that good,
Use parameter of numproc=1 put on boot.ini is all work on ANY mobo
and will NOT cause any problem at all.

We have a one man wrecking crew here with Mr. Coolaler and your talking about TJ in the 8's? Remember Charlie, Mr. Coolaler has only been posting here since Merom so we don't know who will do what.Originally Posted by charlie
So far, We have a one man wrecking crew here that's doing pretty good.
i think that's not chip limited, give more 1.77V or 1.8v , and find someone help the Tcoremod, i think this chip will break 5.5G not hardOriginally Posted by dogsx2
numproc just makes windows ignore it. I think BIOS shots if off entirely, giving it the total 4mb cache unconditionally and devoting all the power to that 1 core.Originally Posted by Onepagebook
Atleast thats what I think is happening
This is an amazing chip coolaler ! Nice PI score

we only bench XS version around here or mod1.4(same thing)Originally Posted by ncc-1709
Great Coolaler
You have to make a CPUmark at this clock now
Do this before running pi, might shave off a tiny bit.
Rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks
Is the CPU cold bugged at all or can it go colder than your pot will let you go?
All along the watchtower the watchmen watch the eternal return.
First of all, Coolaler.
If there was an "overclocking police", you would be the most wanted fugative
but seriously, please stop. I'm running out of clean underwear, and I'm not sure how much more of this my heart can take. Give us a little rest. Its just so much all at once. It feels like only yesterday we were stuck at ~10.2sec and speculating when 5Ghz will be broken.
And I still dont. And I doubt even Coolaler could.Originally Posted by charlie
What makes TEAM JAPAN so special? Is there LN2 different/better? Coolaler and several others are already using LN2/triple-cascade to reach >4800Mhz. And as someone already mentioned, Coolaler has about 200Mhz lead on everyone else. Coolaler is slowly inching down 0.1sec at a time, and its certainly getting harder and harder as stability decreases. 9.0 sec is a very remote possibility. But, your 7.99sec and in august, is just crazy over-optimism.Originally Posted by charlie
Sorry, but I just dont see it happening.

Especially the way they tweak for better performance
if they have the same cpu as I do, I think they will do greater job than I do
that's no doubt about that
However, if we are talking about the same enivornment, I think there is no more room can get faster than 7.999s
