What to do? Can't seem to find a concise answer on conroe mobos

I've been searching and reading my arse off for awhile now and the only solid OC'ing boards are the Bad Axe, and it seems the P5W.

I was hoping to spend less then $200 on a board, but even if i buy top dollar for these i'm not sure it's the best choice. Do you think we'll see more site reviews of conroe mobos in the next few weeks?

I don't care about SLI or Crossfire, wifi, good onboard sound, etc.. I just want a very stable and great OC'ing board to push my E6600 to the max on air.

    How say you?

It's too early to give a recommendation for the Gigabyte GA965P-DS3 but Newegg has it for $150 and someone here posted some very impressive 485fsb OC results with a E6300 ES. It features solid caps but only has one 16x PCIe slot and the non-RAID ICH8 SB. I have it saved to a wishlist but I'm waiting for more results and a Conroe before taking the plunge.

Thanks. I read that DS3 thread and saw that with the E6600 he was only able to get 400FSB? I mean that is still pretty impressive, but i want to make sure i make the best choice. I'm so anxious. How high of FSB do the badaxe boards go stable?

You are probably right...let me tell you where i'm coming from. I built my rig allmost 4 years ago and only paid like $120 for my Abit IS7 board. 2.4c @3.2ghz on stock voltage. It was the shiz back then and still holds its own, but i guess i need to get out of the past and expect to pay $250 for quality?

ok cuz some poeple think 975 > 965 i didnt wanna get flame , dont hurt me . I think DS3 is pretty good

    for ES chips:
it seems like 965 + E6400, 6300 can achieve the best performance/ price ratio. 500fsb possibly with stock multi so thats like 3.5Ghz

no one has yet to OC E6600 or above to 400+fsb with stock multi ... lowering the multi dont count !

X6800 + 965 is the stupiest combo IMO ( not thats gonna matter if u aint gonna OC, or if u buy Dell )

    ok now for retails:
X6800 stable at close to 3.8GHz from andre. subtract 350MHz u get E6700's expected clock. Who knows , maybe E6600,6700 can do better on air

PS: all on tower 120 no WC/phase
    E6600 @ 3.6
    IN9 32x MAX
    EVGA 8800Ultra
    750W
