I can notice on ghosting on some 12 ms monitors..but the ratings aren't even close to standardized so some are worse than others. I don't think there is anything wrong with gaming on a LCD, if it's fast enough. I play CS 1.6 for money if that puts it into perspective, I need to have monitors that don't ghost.
I use a Samsung 204b - excellent with 1600 res.

My Stacker
dell 2005fpw, 16ms and never ghosted on BF2, COD or COD2. My suggestion would be a19 inch since you would need less horse power graphics wise and you would not notice a difference, I do not when I got a Lan. My advice is read the reviews and then ask around the forums and go for name brand (Dell, Samsung, Sony, Viewsonic, HP, Gateway, NEC and others), do not go for a high resolution monitor if it is not at least a 24", since you would have to buy the latest and greatest to keep new games running smooth.
hi!
well, i can get both 2005 and 2007dells here, but the price is 600 and 800 usd. i think i might be getting one from the us might be even going with 24 but it might be too big
which one would u take for games? i play fps mainly, a bit of race nothing else. i also watch dvds sometimes, but thats not a priority.
the colors should be rly good, so s-ips matrix only. no those sucky overclocked 2ms tn+film panels.
what would u suggest?
i heard bout some problems with the new 07 dell line
Tell me about it! I was running a pair of wc'd and highly overclocked 7800GTX's with my 3007WFP and I couldn't play some of the more demanding games at max detail levels with native res. You gotta have some serious firepower to rock the high res monitors and newer games.Originally Posted by AlbanianOC
I personally think the 8ms or lower thing is pure BS. I have a middle of the line Sony LCD with 14ms and there is absolutely 0 blur. And believe me...I notice strange oddities on televisions that no one else in my apartment cna see so I assume I would notice it.
I think I drive my roommates crazy with my AV stuff lol
I'm back....
I'm still running a CRT, however great info on the LCDs as I am always looking.
