Thumbs up The Official Core 2 Duo Overclocking Thread

Need a favour guys. Can you post in the format of:

Username - *Speed and stability* (*vcore*) | *Cooling* | *Mobo* | *Ram*

It'll take me all year to do each post on my own. Thanks

Well, seeing as there's a 65nm Intel OCing thread and an OC thread for almost every A64 based architecture known to man, I thought why shouldn't we have a Core 2 Duo Overclocking thread?

Please post screenies/links of your results obtained with Allendale or Conroe CPUs. Remember to also list which CPU, MoBo, RAM and cooling you were using. If known, plese also post the BIOS revision of your MoBo. Also state your vCore.

Atleast a Pi 1M shot is required, however feel free to post other benchmark results as well. A dual prime screenshot of >1 hour (>3 hours preferred) would also be appreciated for proof of basic stability, but is not mandatory.

Finally, please try to keep OT discussion to a minimum in this thread.

Please click on a username to go to the single post

    Key:
    Proof of stability included
    Proof of stability not included
    Full specs not included

No offense, but prime is overrated. I'm sure it will be hard to push something like that as many people don't use it. Then we'll have the guys preaching prime is the only way to tell if an o/c is stable. yadda yadda.

I personally don't use prime, never have. Super pi 32m, then R@H.

I think its going fine as it is.

Well, we need SOME standard because clocks are going to be all over the charts and not neccessarily clear.

I ask that you post the results in code or an Excel screenshot, so the column divisions are easy to follow.

    Otherwise, great thread!

    E6800 Stepping 5.
    Vcore 1.55 --> undervolts to 1.51
Mobo: Asus P5W DH Deluxe- no mods
temps i Everest are bad hope its a softwareissue.
    Cooling: High end water.

Fore som reason a 14 multi made things more stable at this speed. I think this mobo or bios(604) has some FSB 300+ issues.

Step 5 6700 on Prometeia Mach II-

    Very easily 3D stable:

PCMark05 (equally stressful as Prime95 IMHO):

1M up to 4200 but I don't have a screenie. All I have is this relaxed DI run:

Oh, and 32M back on the Prometeia.

As far as truly stable with this particular processor goes, I would say a flat 4 GHz is where its happiest. Benchable nearly 300MHz beyond that, but not useable for more than several minutes on end. I'd like to see more Prime/PCMark results from Conroes, they are a more accurate gague of where they can actually run for practical usage.
