    4000+ under DI

Me and jkey thought than we should have a go @ OCing his 4000+...

    Setup:
Athlon64 4000+ (Clawhammer) usually IHSless, but today - w/Opty146 IHS on
DFI LanParty NF4-D (modded to Ultra-D) (dead after this OC )
TaPaKaH`s DI tube, and, of course, DI
    2x512MB Gskill PC4400LE (Samsung TCCD)
    some PCI video
    Akasa 550W PSU

First of all - I would like to introduce you to a chipset cooling on DFI invented by jkey ...

I bet none of you guys have heatpipe cooler this big on yer DFI chip

Then comes a couple of pics with DI container installed

A couple of pics of system running

jkey`s chipset cooling was working very well ... with DI on it

    And now - the results:

    Suicide validation - only at 3442MHz - http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=103658
We coudn`t get it stable at frequencies over 3050MHz ... there were some problems with mem.controller in this CPU
+the DFI mobo jkey has got for this OC was not fully DFIish ...
The max HTT was validated at 325MHz - http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=103661 , suicided at 340MHz

After that we removed the container, but we might have overdone ir , removed it with IHS

Pics of "frosted" container (IHS still on)

    Getting rid of DI

And now it`s time for some stupid pics
    Cook #1 (TaPaKaH)
    Cook $2 (jkey)
    Soup, anyone ?
    Ehm ... right ...

nice but why would you waste perfectly good DI, when you can use it for so much more testing
Fast computers breed slow, lazy programmers
The price of reliability is the pursuit of the utmost simplicity. It is a price which the very rich find most hard to pay.

Modern Ram, makes an old overclocker miss BH-5 and the fun it was

Have got nothing to do with it
Max CPU freq - was already tested (~3400MHz)
Max HTT - not too much, anyway (bad mobo)
Try to bench - would have been very low results - problems with mem.controller

i had to do it after killing my 3200+, DI doesnt last that long if you don't have a place to freeze it.

sure that's a sad reason to do so no rig, no fun...think I would freeze some stuff angrily in such situation (spiders, plants or so :>)

Cool new way to remove IHS. Better then hearing the sound of velcro and finding CPU stuck to the bottom of heatsink. Tapakah you look straight your right out of Sling Blade in the shot.
