    Mobo for AM2

I've studied a bit, and I'm thinking about running with the Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe. Any comments on this? I decided to drop the MSI k9n from the running, and it seems that the m2n is the only left. I've read about the Foxconn and a couple others...how do they work in comparison?

I'm looking to drop an 64 3500+ into it for now, and Corsair PC2-6400 DDR2-800 2 GB for the RAM. I want to be able to upgrade in a few months when the dual-core prices drop.

ok, found a question...is there a difference between the m2n32 and m2n-sli?...better question, what is the difference? I've seen that it is a different board...but what is the difference?
    Suggestions?

    Why's that? What's EPP do?

The foxconn board is nice. I haven't tried the ASUS yet but the foxconn will not disappoint.

EPP is an improvement of SPD created by nVidia, it includes more data like the voltage, more timmings, frequency... and when you combine it with a BIOS that can interpretate them you can choose between the different profiles stored, there are two versions, 2 full-profiles or 4 abbreviated profiles.

So is an memory overclock, maybe the profiles are for example one for max FSB another for tight timmings, etc...

You can find more information here or in google .

For me it's not a must.

Yeah EPP seems like a total gimmick if you have even slightly comprehended the BIOS of any enthusiast board.

screw asus all your going to do is spend a crap load just so you can go spend more cuz it has to be modded to compensate for vcore/vdimm/chipset voltage droop.
mostly vcore, which will make or break an overclock.

id be interested to see what foxconn has up their sleeve.

personally id wait., let DFI get their hardware on the market since it seems like they are the only ones who are taking their time and making a killer mothebroard.

epp is a good idea, it means not only will memory be set at rated speeds as already happens with ddr2, but also the cpu speed is optimised to this. Crazy thing is nvidia calling it sli memory........what next, sli screens and keyboards?

Any release dates for the Epox Optimus?

What about the Epox boards in general? Still using NF4 from the released boards i`ve seen...but damn what a price!

Would NF4 chipset make any difference to R-HT if it exists, or is it just the CPU that matters for that?

personally i would go the ABIT KN9 SLI, how pitty they don't seem to be reviewed like once!
but again, the ASUS isn't a bad choice, though it's not anything special!

BTW, the DFI should be released next week or two, at least according to our distributor
