I'll give you some motivation: 100 million by the end of August! How's that for a number to shoot for!
I know, it's tough, there's no "bad guy" to chase and motivate, but there really is..This is when the work we do is for the research for Baker Labs and not for our amusement.
To me, making the 100 million will bring more satisfaction than passing DPC or FDC..

Hey. Don't drop it. Just throttle it down to half or something like that. Or was it your ISP that dropped it?

meh, this thread should only be up to 50k, the people hitting 100-250k getting the same recognition as the guys hitting 10k is kinda lame... just my opinion. Im sure no one cares

Hey Compgeek. the people hitting 10k need that little bit of encouragement. usually they are just in the door a week. I believe in making these people feel recognised, we're fostering our team spirit.

Ditto..Remember, people can read..Hitting 250K,500K or a million is more work than 10K..BUT the guy hitting 10K is also worth saying congrats to..

I know the 10k people need congratulated... i suppose. I dont recall getting anything at 10k myself, nor do i care. But, meh, whatever guys. 200k feels like 10k for the 5th time. Getting dull.

You might not have, either did I..and it wasn't a big deal to me.
I think the point that was trying to be made by Riptide is that we try to encourage the new members and saying Congrats at hitting 10K or 20K is a very small thing but it does let them know that we see what they are adding to the team and shows our appreciation for helping.

this thread went south in a hurry

Not everyone has their hands on Conroe ES and not everybody has 12 rigs to throw at this project. When you're putting out ~1000pts a day and you're new at this, every little bit of encouragement helps. , I'm limiting the amount of time I game so I can do my part as a team member. I've been at this for a week and this kinf of garbage is getting old, and fast.

50k might be measly to somebody with 40 rigs or an unavailable chip puking out 4500/day, but for the rest of us, maybe we don't care to wait 6 years to reach some arbitrarily cooked up number to simply acknowledge our respective contributions.

I have been crunching for 2 and a half months, nearly 24/7, only 2 weeks on a conroe, and it does 2500/day, not 4500, and i only have 4-5 rigs on this.

Get over it, back when i had one rig pumping 1000/day no one was there to cheer me on, and I didnt need it, i wouldnt be here if i did.

so then your motivation for busting up this thread with your negativity is that you didn't get a pat on the back, so nobody else should either? roflmfao Why not just leave it alone?

What im saying is, the 250k guys shouldnt be getting exactly the same "kudos" as the 10k guys who havent even shown commitment yet. It just looks cheesy, i dont care if i get credit, but giving these others guys the same "o, yea, woot you did it" is just... cheesy! They have put a lot more into it than the others.

I see where you're coming from...but your argument is kind of faulty. Go through the thread again...small-time producers like myself are lumped in to posts in large bunches, while the bigger producers get individual congratulatory posts. Seems appropriate to me

I could care less about personal recognition (obviously wouldn't have joined XSTM if I had), but it's nice to give a little shout out to people individually for whatever they do here. I like those 1k shout outs, keeps people motivated and makes them feel like their contribution is worthwhile. Makes them more likely to keep running the projects and that can only be good for the team, right?

hell I'll give you a shout out for the 200k mark right now

I've been crunching 24/7 with 4-5 machines since last November and there are MANY here that have been doing it much longer than I and with more equipment. Do you see my name listed anywhere in the stats? The answer is no. Be comfortable with what you do and know that your help as well as everyone elses is appreciated.
The words may be the same when someone is congratulated in this thread but it goes without saying that there is a greater degree of acknowledgement when a DDTUNG hits 10 million points than when someone hits 10,000.
Also remember who it was that congratulated you with your last milestone when we were doing separate threads on it..Me..I look at everyone here as a part of the whole and it is all of us that combine to make the numbers that makes this team such a powerhouse.
Bottom line, have a little more appreciation of others and have some plain old fashioned fun with this.
