    Help with vdimm & vcore mods for ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe, please.

    Hey guys!

    I would love some help figuring out vdimm & vcore mods and reading points for this board, ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe (nForce570 SLI, Socket AM2). I know that Shamino already did those for M2N32-SLI Deluxe (nForce590 SLI) but it doesn't seem to be the same

    I have taken few shots of maiboard in question below. Max voltages at this moment are 2.5vdimm (BIOS) and ~1.65vcore (BIOS). I could use some vdimm of 2.7v+

    Thanks

    Both points shows vdimm voltage in my M2N-E that has the same layout than M2N SLI. In mine it's 1,96 on the IC and 1,95volts in the inductance...

    Any news ?

    For the Vdimm mod, connect a 20k VR between that pin and ground. Decrease resistance to increase voltage.

    is it important how much W (or maybe current) can handle 20k VR? Or i can use any 20k VR that i can find?

    No, you can use any vr you can find. I use 20-25 turns VR. The vmod just manages voltages, not current ( this remains in to the mosfets i think ), so wattage isnt important.

    Stock on my M2N-E is just crap. I can just adjust vdimm up to 1,95v and vcore up to 1,62-1,65. If i were able to get 2,5volts to de ram i wouldn do the vmod, yet. Anyway maybe something's wrong with my mobo or so that i can just adjust that voltages, i thought id have the same than m2n sli since they use the same pcb... I'd like to know if we can use m2n-sli bios, but i dont know anyone who can say something about that...

    Regards!

    Sorry persivore, late to the party but I will give you answers from my M2N-SLI Dx. BTW, thanks for help ^don.k's^

    Now, to the answers:

    post #2 --> both are 2.52v (at 2.5vdimm set in BIOS)
    post #5 --> 512ohm
    post #9 --> 1530ohm

    BTW, vcore can be measured at that choke's leg, on the last pic of my initial post. At 1.537v set in BIOS, I get 1.57v from DMM and also 1.57v from BIOS Hardware Monitor.

    I will try vdimm mod next week, persivore! Thanks for that one

    EDIT: I have just added a legend for vcore and vdimm measurements on this mobo.

    Just did vdimm mod, and it just works perfect, i went up to 3,12v ( yeah, i was really scared when i saw it @multimeter lol ), and got this with my better pair of 8000UL:

    Using 2,8volts.

    Ill post pics tomorrow, as i thought, M2N-E and SLI are the same, in pcb and vmods too.

    Yes, i cant reboot from windows without shuting down, and saving bios needs some restart, this mobo runs great once you get it running, but, it's hard to get it running lol

    I'll keep testing with vdimm mod this afternoon when i get some free time, i'd like to hit 580 4-3-3

    For the Vcore mod, connect a 50k VR between the pin marked in post #9 and ground. Decrease resistance to increase voltage.
    If the pin on the chip is too small to solder to, could someone post a high res picture of the chip so I can look for an alternative solder point.

    Cool! Thanks! But you're right, those legs are quite tiny. Here's a close-up I managed to snap, without removing a heatsink. Kind of crappy due to bursting flash, but only this way I could get the traces to show up on a pic.

    EDIT: It looks like that soldering pad I marked might be the best choice for an alternative for Pin7, am I correct?

    This board is maybe the best one for AM2 when moded, layout is perfect, memory goes in 1&3, in other mobos is 1&2 (Abit, Epox..... not so good for cooling the memory), cooling of SouthBridge is perfect, location of sata, ide, flopy, power is perfect, the colour of board is beautiful, everything is perfect . Damn DFI what are u waitnig for..... until Asus rocks, can't wait to get one, i can't get it it in my country jet. I hope that new BIOS will resolve cold boot and reset problems, and maybe some extra oc features or higher HTT.

    Yes, once moded, i love this board Would be nice more voltage regulation but for the cheap it is, isnt bad at all...

    Can anyone comment the chipset temperature, especially when overclocked? I've read several posts on asus forums where they said it gets too hot to touch. Thanks.
