and whats AMD doing ?
Using DDR2 and nothing else.
No performance increase at all.
They must be having some serious meetings around the board room table.
How about jumping forward 18 months right now ...!?!
I just woke up, asking myself why so many people where in the intel section.
well here's the anwser.
Results a skyrocketing again. And it's just the begining!
Good luck there. Awesome to see this

Nice results coolaler. Do we know the prices for this monster?

whoa kentfield is already here? Dont think Hector Ruiz can say "cpu power doesnt matter" about this one.
A multimedia monster.
Thanks for showing us.
Man, that is simply great. What I will like to know is that what kind of cooling was used.
Amaizing chip
Run 3D06 You might be the first to break 4K CPU score, I don't think it has ever been done
again hate to be a stickler:
E66 1.54v 4G daul 1M PASS! 1.5V 3.9G dual 32M PASS on AIR

but then again, with better stepping im sure the kentsfield will OC well

Waiting for Crysis
AMAZING RESULTS AS ALWAYS !!!
btw - will this cpu be supported by Bad Axe rev 304 ?
can someone tell ?
18? 12 months from now AMD sells a genuine quad core K8L with shared L3 cache and major IPC improvements, while Intel hasn't released this 2x2 mockup quad CPU... what's wrong with this?Originally Posted by graham_h

this is some brutal stuff. All there is to it is to write applications that can use quad cores. This cpu shure does show allot of strenght in benchmarks coded fop multy cores.
Quad cores reveald so soon. Nice colaler
Still right now for the future 2 years i would go with conroe for gaming, this is a legacy chip in my mind it fits the server market more then for average consumer. All thou it all might change in future if Nvidia codes each core to work for one of the Gpu cores. It could be all about drivers. 2xsli GX2 anyone ?

You have same performance @ 3 GHz than 3.2 GHz ... Everest says 2.89 GHz in all case.
Why ?
What a twit.Originally Posted by Pjotr
Because your "genuine" QC exists on paper right now and might have its ass on a plate to this "mockup".
People are being too quick to dismiss AMD. But they forget we don't get any Eng. samples tested (without NDA) from them untill a few weeks before the final product is launched. It's a very different case from Intel, Kentsfield is about 10-12 months away still, you could compare this to someone testing K8L under socket M2 already.
Appart from that, congrats on the tests Coolaler and thanks for those ridiculous scores. Me want one.
Wrong place for such an argumentOriginally Posted by Pjotr
January 2007, this sucker or an even probaly an even better edition will hit the streets, while AMD still havnt got anything better then their current AM2 CPU class... - Later AMD will launch their "I got too much money to spend on a computer" edition with possibility of multiple CPU's..
AMD's history untill they pull off some 65nm quadcore CPUs with anti-hyperthreading..

very nice results. im not keen on the 2 seperate dies, but 4 cores is still fun.
any word on when an intel quad core will be coming out that will have one die for all 4 cores?
