Slowest SuperPi scores ever

Lowest SuperPi score ever.

A few days ago I dumped out an old Compaq computer from the rubish.
"It should contain some valuable parts" I tought.

It's an old Compaq 4/33S compuer:

- 33MHz 486 Intel SX CPU (without any cooling sollution)
- 45MB EDO RAM (70ns)
- 203MB HDD
- 1,44 Floppy
- 100w PSU
- No co-processor

Under a few hours I put a 3.0 Debian woody to it, with kernel 2.2.20.

Then the Super Pi test begans.

I ran the 16K test on the system:

Calculation time: 6691,190 Sec. (with a 3200+ it takes ~0,3 Sec. without OC)

I cannot found any lower SuperPi score ever, but if you have one, post it here :-)

I would like to see 386/286 and XTs. Now that is one old piece of hardware Or even mainframes from 80s I worked myself on 286 and XTs, it was almost 20 years ago. They had around 256-1024KB RAM

Would use the Apricot Zen Xi, 286, 512K, Monochrome, but it hasn't got the Protected Memory mode... can't see it running anything really.

Used to smoke people with that rig, it's in my sig...

I am sure that there is slower computers than this, but to get a score, you need to fire it up with a working os to calculate pi.

In this area I recommend the 16K calculation to use for the scores.

And yes, lets the game begin

If someone brake this record, I will hopefully find a way to get an older and slower config for a nex beat

Oh and about 32M: I think that I sooner get a blackout than I can finsih a 32M calculation with this machine :-)

Interesting, but not too high: about 60 Celsius when run at 100%.

Yes, the rule is no underclocking allowed. These are stock values. (anyway I cannot underclock this sstem, because it's BIOS cannot changeable, I cannot set any value, neither with jumpers).

Of BTW: originally there was 16MB of EDO in it: I have some stick from my old school, and put it in for the linux to work a little faster. (an because there is no space for Swap on this HDD)

Another funny thing: there is no slot closing mechanism on the slot.

Yes, but win 3.1 (or below ) are not supported by Pi. BTW: an NT4 should be run on it, but if the 70MB linux distro setting up about 2 hours... I don't wanna wait that time, if not necessary

CPU: 486SX-33 (without fpu, lol), 20 megs of ram.
Time: 1M - 46h 56m 06s = 2816min 06sec = 168966sec



also ran hexus pifast with that monster..

742583.24sec = 206.27h = 8.59 days = 1.22 weeks

I meant that my 386/40 (8mb) will be faster than your 486/33 (First time I said that was a looooooong time ago)

Doubt I could get a Slower time off it if I run a Linux install straight off.
I'm sure I can get Win95 on it, that would do it... spent ages trying to prove it could be done.. have to dig out the old switches, I seem I remember I got it on there via Switches on the Installation CLI... dunno really, been such a long time.

anyway..

Spoke to the Friend who has it. We'll see what we can do. If it's all still working, we'll fire off the whole series for ya! You might want to put this thread on suscribe, a I suspect 32MB will take a short while, (We may even see AMD retaliation against Conroe before it finishes )
