    It's a sweet looking board.

    Problem? No ICH8-R.

Very nice board, well featured. However I doubt it will be the best overclocking board and that is what I am looking for.

LOL altavista certainly does some rough translations (yes I do understand that translating is ridiculously hard)

Why crossfire only on the good looking asus boards? I dont feel like doing a complete changeover and get rid of my vid card aswell.

somewhere in the article it is mentioned that they asked Asus why the only used the 4-Pin and the answerded that it is Intel Spec and due to the fact that the Core 2 Duos do not need that much Power.

sounds stupid for me... because some people will use Preslers or Prescotts on that Mobo...

not much. advanced hardware monitoring features and "Intel Fast Memory Access" technology are the biggest points. the last technology is senseless. because latencys do not have such a big effect on Intel based systems...

No, that fast memory access has nothing to do with the ICH8R Memory access is controlled by the Northbridge and the ICH8R is a southbridge... That Fast Memory Access you are talking about is a feature of the new P965 chipset

Intel prescotts and preslers do not require EPS12V (the 8 pin power connector) this is required only for XE cpus (955,965).

didn't knew that. sry once again
    ------------------------------
but, the one Heatsink is senseless (for Mosfet cooling), because with it only half of the Mosfets are cooled. I think it might be a try to transport the heat faster away from the chipset, plus having bigger cooling surface.

So you can't run 955's and 965's on this board
I think i'm sticking to the new P5WD2-E Prem. rev then

A food hard disk? This will do perfectly with my lunch date with Conroe, can't wait to pull out the tablecloths. Stable food delivery too, how can you go wrong?

On a serious note, that 259 Euro pricetag ain't pretty.
