I'm looking into removing the stock fan from my Freezer Pro and wanted to put on a new 120mm or 92mm fan with higher output than the stock one. It will be an easy job but i wanted to know if anyone has done it and what their results are.
Thanks!

Bump.
I need to reverse the fan.
Also, I need to shift the base plate relative to the mounting frame. Anybody got that done?
I did, I just taped a 120mm fan on it, but dont get you hopes up becuase it only dropped my idle temps a few degrees and there was no change in load temps.

I was thinking about doing the same thing but i think you will need a fan more 40CFM to see any difference.

No change to my fan though.
What exactly did you do? Any photos?Originally Posted by BigDov
heres how I setup mine, didnt help temps too much becuse the fan overlapped the HS. I might try an 80mm fan on it later, but for now:

I just unscrewed the little screw where the handle for the lock-down mechanism is, moved the entire mount the other way, screwed the screw back in and I was off and running. Unfortunately, no pics, as it was a temporary fix on my old boardOriginally Posted by uOpt
Thanks, I gotta try that.
I have a semi-serious problem with a socket 940 board that doesn't place the HSF frame centered over the CPU sockets. Photos here: http://forums.2cpu.com/showpost.php?...&postcount=104

yea mine sits just a hair off-centered but my guess is hat its not that big of a deal. mine is also switched to the horizontal position cauz my ultra-d socket would make the hot air blow up instead of back so that could be why.

I don't have the Pro but suppose it's not much of a diff....
Does ghetto attempts count?
Or with something more juicier.
