No Heat Pipe on the P5B-V DH ?
Also P5BQ-V is new.. more info ?
Looks good but the layout seems a little awkward on the DH. Battery location seems like it was a contest to see which would be the hardest for us. Still glad to see them.
Nice boards I hope we can get them by the end of this month.
It would be nice to see a break down of these boads side by side. Im a little out of the loop on asus board and i dont really know what advantages one of these has over the other. What sets these 3 975x board apart from each other? (Other then the expansion slot configuration.)

But will they sport the new ICH-8R also?
I'm liking the P5WD2-E Premium but I also want the ICH-8R to go along with it or only the 965P (P5B) will have it?

OMG P5WDG2 WS Pro! pci-x woot:
P5W DH Deluxe: high end sli board i believeOriginally Posted by flakpyro
P5WD2-E Premium: not quite as high end, probably less sata ports. doesn't have that riser doohicky for tv in. has 1 pci-e 4x instead of 2 pci-e 1x slots. has other different back pannel slots.
P5WDG2 WS Pro: work station board with those pci-x slots and such.
What the hell? I just bought Scythe Ninja Plus for my future Conroe and now you say that it does not fit??Originally Posted by Meefle
Hmm wonder if any will have PCI-e 16 x 2 for Crossfire. I like the higher than usual PCI slot loc on these boards it's great for the sound card. Placing it there reduces the chances of EMI. Most other dual graphics card capable boards jam the PCI slots dead last or in a place where two cards would block the use of a higher slot. The top PCI-e slot on some of them is also nice for tv tuner cards that can use it like my PC Theater Pro card. Good spacing, nice lay out.

Thanks for the help (or lack thereof) in resolving my P3700 issue, FUGGER...
Again those stupid heatpipes...
That's really a problem for those who are using a BTX-formed case.
P5WD2-E Premium is my next Intel mobo.

Andre, can you tell me which rev the new P5WD2 Prem is? And they are all added to my list But that 8 phase P5WD2 Premium looks very very nice. I Guess that will be my Core 2 Duo board Or maybe the Abit AW9D MAX, any info on that one? According to abit's site it has to be at there boot...

I guess it has something to do with specific Core 2 Duo power requirements since I've seen only 1 board without caps so close by the socket. It makes water heads, bigger air coolers and phase mounting, insulation much harder

I too am wondering if any of these suppport Crossfire. I see two PCI-Ex slots in most of the boards, but don't yet know the availability of Crossfire on either of these. Boards look good though. Little concerned about CPU Cooling... something like Tuniq Tower 120... will it fit with all those Capacitors sitting next to the socket?
I have the same problem... But some have really basic heatpipe (only on the Northbridge) I think it shouldn't be too hard to remove it and put a 3rd party cooler on the northbridge.Originally Posted by SMa
I don't know about the Ninja but the Scythe Mine looks like it might fit these new boards. All the caps on the top side of the CPU look nearly flush with the top of the CPU. If so, the mount should clear.Originally Posted by BulldogPO
The caps on the I/O shield side all look higher but that shouldn't be a problem since that area is open on the Mine's HSF mounting bracket.
I know the Mine was designed to work with Socket 775 bds and popular bds like the Bad Ax or P5WDE all have caps in those same areas. (just not as many of them).
gahhh!!! i so hate intel!! or maybe asus, i dont really know...
i bought a P5WDG2-WS, for 2000kr about 350$, and now i have to buy a new board expensivev board, since i use scsi, i really need the pci-x...
and the only different i can se (there maybe more) is the cooling on the NB and the power design.
how hard would it have been to make the power design on the P5WDG2-WS able to support conroe... iam sure they had the specs from intel at the time they developed the board...
ohh well, guess i just have to begin save some money, and when the time come, sell the system i have now.
