    Northwood Cost?!!??!

Hey, I've got a Pentium 4 3.06ghz northwood sitting around and I'm wondering whether I should just go out and buy a full setup for it or sell it on ebay. I saw some online vendors selling that same model for 729 online (about 3 vendors, i can give links) that sold it for that much. Think I can get around 500-700 on Ebay? I'm thinking if I can get about 500-700, i can get a pretty decent computer now (uh... maybe) or keep it for my Conroe savings (this option sounds great). If you guys don't think I can get about that much, what do you think I can get off it on ebay? Thanks.

You would be extremely lucky to get $200 for that used chip.

500 is a bit too much!!!!!!!!! A Pentium D 920 should be a lot better and they ran for less than $250 brand new!

I've sold mine last year on eBay for $160+shipping. Considering my feedback score was near zero at that time, I was surprised at the final value the item ended at. When I had that chip I wasn't into OC'ing or anything technical, indeed it was my first build.

The special thing about that chip is it's the only chip that supports HyperThreading with Socket478/533MHz FSB configuration, as well as it's the highest clocked model. I've heard it OC's quite nicely when mated with a right board. I'd suggest you sell it on eBay as soon as possible, before it loses its value over time. If you can sell it for $150, that's already 1/2 of the fund for E6600 right there.
I don't check my PMs very often.

The 3.06 won't be worth anything nowadays, it's old technology. Most peoplf who want to use Northwood would get the 3.0C with an 800 MHz bus. 533 won't get you too far.

50-100 bucks is a good offer.
In short, both AMD and NVIDIA discovered that their next-generation graphics cards are superior to each others' last-generation graphics cards.

If you still have a motherboard lying around for it i would either sell the northwood and get a Dothan setup.

Or sell it all and go for conroe.
