    Team Group's DDR2 Power: 667mhz 1g dual channel kit CL-3-4-4-8

Well, time to play some DDR2? I believe that it is about the time.
It's no doubt that everyone all clearly understand " Micron D9 Fat-body IC "
is the best DDR2 by far. However, due to the fact that D9 fat-body is no longer produced; what
else we are going to expect? Today, I will bring this very powerful Team Group DDRII 1GB set
(512mb x 2 sticks Dual Channel kit) to every extreme user.

    Model, speed, and part number:

    PC5300 DDR2 667MHz 2*1GB 4-4-4-12 64*8 16 Chips TXDD2048M667HC3DC
    PC5300 DDR2 667MHz 2*512MB 4-4-4-12 64*8 8 Chips TXDD1024M667HC3DC

    detail specifications:

Available in 1GB and 2GB Dual Channel
    PC2-5300 667MHz 3-4-4-8
    64x8 DDR2 FBGA Chips
    240pin, Non-ECC, Un-buffered DDR2 SDRAM DIMM
    Aluminum Heat-spreader
6 Layers Ultra Low Noises Shielded PCB
    Retail Package
    1.8V - 2.2V
    Lifetime Warranty

    Pricing:
    DDR2 667 2*512MB USD$120
    DDR2 667 2*1GB USD$235.00

Now , let's see the RAM itself.
From the picture showing below, we can easily find out the difference between Team Group DDR 1
and DDR 2 by the color of heat spreaders. It's made by Alumium with silver color.

    Label:

well, the most important part is here. I think you all know that logo and "D9"?

    One thing that catch my eyes is the pcb Team Group used for their DDR2;
it is still the BP mill pcb.

ok, let 's see some basic stability benches:

    ************************************************** *****************************
    Test bed:

    CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo " E6600, Conroe " LGA775 ES
Motherboard: Intel I975Xpress Bad Axe, Bios 1073, ver: 304 (Conroe Supported)
    PSU: Zippy 950w 3u single
Video card: BFG tech, 7900gtx single card
    CPU cooler: Tuniq Tower 120
Memory: Team Group Xtreem series DDRII-667mhz CL3-4-4-8; 1.8v~2.2v
    OS: Windows XP SP2
HD: Western Digital 150gb 10k rpm 16mb cache, AFHD single drive.

I have to be honest with everyone here, for DDR2 and Intel system, I am really a

completely noob. In order to give the unbias bench report, the results I post here are NOT from

    so-called
"Cherry picked". Until the last moment I finished that ddr 727, 3-3-3-4; I really don't have any idea

if I can apply the parameters I set on the memset 1.1.

    Now, let's see:
Directly give DDR 720+ with CL3-4-4-x super pi 32m completed with

vdimm set to auto under bios.

After that run, I was thinking if I can apply 3-4-3, so I did the most benches on that

timings included some 3d and prime actions.

    super pi 32m:

    3D mark:

    01se:

    03:

    06:

sp2004 latest version running for 1 hour 40 mintes errorless.

Finally, I thought I can finish all the benches , so initially this super pi 32m was for fun,
and it was totally out of my expectation when I set the tRtc as 3 then apply. It was amazing
I did not have the system locked up ; so I then go ahead and let it run through whole 32m until
    it finished.

During the run to 11st iteration, pic took by digital camera:

    finished:

    captured from windows:

Certainly, need to give the cpuz verified:

Certainly, everyone will doubt, how about 2gb kit dual channel? well, no prob, I will

do my best to bench with the same memory parameters as 1gb, 512mb x2 set.
This is really the one you definitely want to get on your list if you can't get Fat-body anymore

Thank you very much for reading.

Wow ... Silver heatspreaders. Doesn't look too bad, but i still prefer the look of the golden DDR one =D.

Nice clocking ! But have you tried Cl 4 or Cl 5 ?

i really like the look of those silver spreaders

those ic's also look pretty similar to something i picked up just for kicks, some crucial value ram that has D9GMG

Kevin, one thing that has my curiosity... how do they do at 4-4-3 or 5-5-4?
Got a fan over those memory sticks? No? Well get to it before you kill them

I got some "value" crucial mircon sticks. D9XXX (i dont remember). Don't think the are "Fat body".

D9 non fat body are great too?

I also got some 1gig ddr1 with really small chip (rectangular)

To me, yes. I've seen some non-fatbody D9s clock pretty well, Comparing to DDR, it's like bh-5 being the best and the rest [eg. ch-5, bh-6, ch-6] clocking not too far behind.

D9 alone doesnt mean they are great.

I see lots of OEM DELL computers with D9XXX memory all the time.

Very nice looking sticks for the Price. Are you going totest anything like 4-4-3-1 and see how high you can go? I am sure you could break into the 400mhz+ range with ease.

Nice results. But in order to be "best DDR2 around retail", it has to be available for sale somewhere. Where can we buy this memory?

The latter ones are probably handpicked (The partnumber in CPU-Z), what can we expect from the retail ones?

Also, is the price difference between the pc6400-kit and the pc5400-kit justified? How high will the pc5400-ones go with cl 4 and some juice?

They could be the same pair as OPB has a EEPROM programmer there

They'd probably melt since they're not fatties

I saw some at tank guys on back order but dunno when they will get in.

    1gig kit
    http://www.tankguys.biz/2x512mb-4441...b1b275f06bfcda

    2gig kit
    http://www.tankguys.biz/ddr2-44410-8...b1b275f06bfcda

And yes OPB that is plenty good enough for me.

Those aren't the same DDR2. OPB's sticks are rated at 3-4-4-8. The ones listed at Tankguys are 4-4-4-10. Note the part number on the ones OPB is using: TXDD512M667HC3. Also note that he's using 512MB dimms. It's much easier to run 4-3-2 on 2X512 kits than it is on 2X1024.

Ok, but then why change the rated speed to PC6400 from PC5400?

OBP: What in the world are those second pair of sticks? Can you confirm they are the regular Team Group Xtreem PC6400 CL4?

Hmmm...didn't notice that part. They may be another pair....OR they may have just been re-binned

Sweet stuff OPB, looks like I know whats coming into the conroe rig. You arent selling any of the pairs you have are you?

I cant locate this stuff anywhere in Europe, and the 8500's cost more than a conroe+board together in DK :O

In short, both AMD and NVIDIA discovered that their next-generation graphics cards are superior to each others' last-generation graphics cards.

TeamGroup doesn't even list the C3 part on their website: http://www.teamgroup.com.tw/index.ph...128&Itemid=347

No mention of a CL=3-4-4-8 part anywhere, just the Cas 4 stuff.
