Here's a couple quick pictures. It doesn't look like much progress, but it actually is... .

These are all with my cell phone because I think my parents kidnapped my digital camera. The quality is terrible, so these are the only three that are even worth a look. I'm going to fill the system up with water again so you guys can see the beast in action. At this point, I'm going really in depth into the wiring so that the panel is perfect. I've been shocked before, and it's not happening again.

    The system put together....kinda

The evap forming two distinct chambers so that all the water returning from the loop has to be cooled:

i kinda hate radioshack, their selection of parts has just gotten smaller and smaller, some of the stores in my area don't even sell the electronic parts anymore

bah! I take it back, turns out ice is much better conductor then I thought. All your water would frezze eventually int he rez and then it would rupture from expanding ice Although it would depend on how dence the ice is depending on how cleanly it froze depending on how much air is in the ice.

Yeah, once the ice had formed around the evap, it began to freeze faster. BTW, the box won't rupture, it's made to withstand chemical attack and impact at -40C.

Oh, and a fun little quick question for you guys. I have an extra pump that I want to wire in to run water through my old rad with a fan on it for a burst of mid game cooling . Would this cause a huge problem?

you don't understand, with ice it is machanicle, it distroys mountains will sheer the stongest of steels, crack conreat, there is litle that can withstand the force of expansion of water freezing with a solid steel box it would be bent out wards your box is open at the top so it would bulge upward, but my ruptur the sides.

Simply put don't let it freeze lol

I think what he meant to say is that the internal box is flexible therefore it will not rupture. Put a 20oz bottle of watter in the freezer and let it freeze, the bottle will expand without breaking... Kind of like his res.

A solid metal box isnt as solid as you think.

Just a heads up, I tried using glass-wool insulation (its called Pink-Bats here). It sucks up all the moisture and turns into a horrible mess. Grab some expanding spray foam to replace it.

Well, with work and everything, I'm definately falling behind on where I wanted to be. I haven't touched the chiller since last week. I keep drawing up new wiring diagrams at work during my lunch break, and I keep running into the same problem. When the power is run from the wall, I want to only switch one pole. The ground will be routed to a plate which will have each electronic attached. Now, here's where your guys' experience comes in. Which terminal will I need to do all of my main wiring to? Everything will be wiring and capped and solders will be insulated to prevent shock etc. I want to be completely safe about this.

OK, so the hot is wired up, and the neutral and ground just must be connected to the device?

ya, that way the device is well earthed and any electrical fualt the hot will go to ground or neutrol and not you, and if the fuse is blowen the whole device will be disconected from any live power mains.

I have an exciting update. I just bought an Iwaki MD-20R. Now, I have a Via Aqua that I can basically trash with the cold temps, but I found this pump for a great price so I jumped on it. For the money, it was probably the best upgrade I could do to the system. I'm sure epion will be happy .

R will be good if theres no antifreeze involved, too slushey for good flow rates. Denatured alcohol or methanol is a better alternative to antifreeze.
