    You will agree with me.

    975x sucks.
FYI. Intel Core Logics for Intel CPUs, that's the #1 rule in the 10 commandments. VIA, SiS and nVidia......care to do little history before you come up with a dumba$$ statement like that.

And also, absolutely no ONE will agree with you, ever!.

I'm going to be a bit cautious of first release conroe mobos, maybe I'll wait for second or even third revisions. By that time they should have found there way down here to the bottom of the world in OZ.
Signature? are you kidding? with new stuff coming out every day, why bother ?

    /edit
@skyline, my bad, thought it was a novelty, an 945 conroe board; it could be expected it wouldn't be a novelty around these parts :p

Well some 975X board have been here for a while and will have new revision for Conroe... so no need to wait when the only difference is some electric parts and bios.

but I know what you talk about. I was one of the first with a P4S8X board.. damn I had hard time with it.. finally got an RMA + freebies from Asus. Was a pain, but good service anyway.

That's hard to tell at this moment. Some 975X sure will OC very good, but ATi's RD600 looks very nice too. Even Fugger says that

@ g.l.amour, that board was already added, but thx anyway

they are not in the way to anything important.
One thing odd to me with this motherboard : lack of cooler on southbridge.(or it's so small i cannot see )

I was planning to get the Intel 975 Badaxe board for conroe but the asus P5B Deluxe looks interesting. I have what is perhaps a really dumb question about the 965 chipset however. Whats the deal with IDE? Is it supported or not? Are some boards gonna tack one on for DVD drives and some not? Or are we all gonna have to invest in SATA optical drives?

i have been thru a lot of reviews. i have yet to read a review were one of these works with a dvd-r/rw. Im not going to spend $20 from newegg to have it not work and then refund money back. Then im out shipping to them plus restocking fees. Till i see a hard review from in ocf/xs/ect im not getting one. I would rather lose a pci slot and keep my pioneer dvd-r/rw.
