the card ran at 800 / 900 ... it seems this mod adds something to the vMem too.

which one did you make? the pencil vmod or the other one i dont get? 800/900 sounds impressive tommorrow i will put it on water, and want to put it on fire hehe...

The pencil mod ofcourse, for vGPU. I mean the one in the picture above, because the 0.1V increment by jumper is not possible for this PCB revision. The jumper is no longer present... maybe de-solder the 2-left pins and solder ther 2-right pins should do the trick.. but only 0.1V is not worth doing
The pencil trick adds volts gradually depending on how much pencil you rub.

My current results have been attached.. currently second in the world with comparative hardware (Opteron @ 3G / BH-5) and the best result with plain air... just stock HS+ 70mm Evercool fan @ 3800 rpm!
Can and will easily do 40K+ with Conroe and aim for the WR on single card, currently owned by a guy named Freak

now we know how to mod... but i'm still not pretty sure the voltage measurement point.

my hand was shakey and i missed the lower mosfet on the left (on the pic) and my dmm touched the top mosfet, a spark came out and shuts down my pc.

then the system refuse to turn ON with the 7300gt, so i guess the card caused short circuit.

sent for RMA. gonna miss the big Zalman cooler.... coz newer stocks are using a 'smaller' Zalman cooler

Nice... unfortunately i forgot to buy tubes, so gotta wait untim monday... wont risk stock air cooling, no matter how good is it (this Galaxy has the best small stock cooler ever got)

I have the Galaxy 7300GT cards now. Forgetting using a pencil ( which is only really good for drawing pictures of naked ladies or sticking up your nose ) the volt mod is as follows

There are two ISL 6549 14 leg IC's, one for memory ( back of card ) and one for gpu (front of card). The feedback pin is pin 4.

Memory FB resistance = 640
Gpu FB resistance =640

Hence use 50k pot and set to 12k and work down.

Measuring point for gpu volts is the bottom of the top left large capacitor.
Measuring point for the memory is one of the two large bottom capacitors at the far right of the front of the card

Volts as as standard are 1.30v and 1.91v on my card. Now running at 1.4v and 2.04v.

Measure voltages from the capacitors not the MOSFETS ... you can see the top left capacitor ..use the metal square with the + sign next to it ..a lot less dangerous.

And you should not be RMAing something you blew up yourself , you should take the pain

Maybe it's not the right resistor for VMEM because the memory speed decreases when I pencil resistor 437 ...

Hi! I have the Galaxy 7300GT 128mb ddr3 1.4ns PCI-E

Looking at the pics, I could not find anyone with the same PCB, so I'm kinda afraid to vmod it without some pro advice.

At stock voltages I can get my 7300gt at 550/890. If I add voltage to the gpu I get 650MHz on 1.43V but then I can't get mem over 790 to be stable :?
I bumped the memory voltage a tad, but didn't seem to do anything.

It shouldn't be the mem temperature, it seems like its something else :/

Anyway, here are some 3Dmark 05 scores I made while testingon a sempron64@2.5GHz:

Just tested it...
As soon as I add even a tad voltage to the gpu, mem frequency drops
The RivaTuner test just fails above 800MHz for mem :/
Tried dropping the cpu to 350MHz, but still the mem is stuck at 800....

The system is cold, just booted, and gpu temp is at 42 C.
So it's definitely not temperature related.
What else could it be?
Any ideas?

2. Provide air-flow on the card's memories. I do it by using a 70 mm fan over a ~55-60 mm GPU radiator (from an Arctic Silencer), thus providing good air on the memory chips.
3. DO NOT volt-mod the memory with the above resistor 437 .. I think it does exactly the opposite: it decreases memory OC. Wipe any pencil trails from it with acetone or technic alcohol.
Leave only the GPU mod. If the GPU OC starts to decrease, it's time to wipe-out the pencil and start over with it.

I monitor the temps all the time, and have added ramsinks on the memmory chips. Also there is a 120mm fan blowing directly on the card. For testing purposes I also added a 90mm 5500rpm fan (the one from a volcano 12, damn, is it loud) but didn't affect the mem clock. The chips were cool to the touch.

As soon as I add volts to the gpu I loose like 100MHz of max mem clock. :/

I tried the r437 pencil mod, and while the mem voltage did go up (from 1.95 to 2.05) I didn't do a thing.

So for now I settled on 580/750 (vgpu raised a bit) for stock cooling...

But I'd really like to hear more about this mem thing...
