    x2 3800 @ 3gig

I have been playing around with my A8v-delux for over 12 months now.
    i currently have a X2 3800 wich will run @ 3gig but i get faster performance @ 2.9 ghz

    due to mem settings.

atm im stuck on 2900 mhz @ 1.4 vcore with mem @ cpu/12 mem
wich gives me 241 mhz on mem with cas settings @ 2.5.3.3.7
mem is x2 corsair cmx 512 -4000 pro

can pull a doom3 timedemo demo1 @ 204 fps on low res with these settings.

yet at 3 gig the mem cant stay on these settings i have to run "cpu/15 i think "

i feel that cpu is verry stable @ 3gig but with not many options in mem settings. im suffering on more cpu overclock

would i get more chance of greater overclock with the newer asus motherboards??like this 1 ASUS A8N-SLI- PREMIUM nForce 4 SLI

i run my mem @ 2x disabled as far greater performance even if i have to lower cpu fsb hence 300 down to 290 x10

    my sys specs atm are
A8v-delux rev 2.0 max vcore 1.6wich is fine but max vdim 2.8 :-( is a bit sad
    2 xWD 74 gb Raptors raid 0 stripe 16
2x hitachi 160 gb ide for storage & Ghost backups
    6800 Gt vid card
    2x 512 corsair cmx 512 4000 pro
    OCZ powerstream psu adjustable rails
    Vapochill Pe
    cm stacker STC-T01 with Window

operating sys is winxp pro sp2

maintenance partition = 200mb consist off
    1 vapo config
    2 Ghost 7.5
    3 ghost 8
    4 pqmagic 8
    5 btmagic
runs of menu for easy recovery. data backups & vapochill controll

im at the end i feel no way i can push this board any harder i have tried for months...

if you want to really push it, a DFI lanparty is the board you need, lots of voltage and tweak options

I'd say a SLI-D, all the perks of the DR version without a price bomb just for 4 extra SATA ports. the Expert model is also supposed to be alright......until it randomly dies. I say stich with the SLI-D, I actually run mine 24\7 with a FSB\HTT of 315MHz :p

How do these things perform on there stata raid controllers
my current promise 378 fastrack can ghost from hitachi to raptors @ 2.3 gig/pm on stripe 16

but my brother inlaws p4 asus motherboard raid controller is Bad @ speeds of as low as 1300 mb\pm stripe 16

little things like good raid controllers for ghosting purposes are important on a mother board choice

what cpu and mem settings are u at . thanks

I agree. Too many people don't realize how good the board is. I've never had any major problems, and I find it very stable.

I have a DFI Expert but tbh i don't like it at all ... it doesn't like TCCD/TCC5 memory (It will corrupt my windows as soon as i pass > 255Mhz even thought sticks have been tested @ 310Mhz 2.5-3-3-6 on Ultra-D) and even with my BH-5 @ 250Mhz 2-2-2-5 i get random crashes which i've never had with the G.Skill in my sig. (Again, these sticks were tested @ 250Mhz 2-2-2-5 for hours in memtest and with prime and they never failed)

O, and another thing ... it seems that i can't run any memory in the yellow slots NOT even my BH-5 ... as the board will simply not boot then.

I've decided to ditch the expert and buy a Ultra-D and then mod it to a SLI-D and then i hope to get some rest at last :P

    Expert + TCCD/TCC5 = No Go.

    Expert + 2GB Kits & BH5 = it rules "As mentioned".

Ive had 2 and both worked perfect, Having 3 and they all die makes me wonder what u was doing with them.

But hay could happen i supose.

The previous owner of my BH-5 sticks had them rockstable at 250Mhz @ 2-2-2-5 (24h+ prime/memtest) but for some reason they fail to run decently here ... Well, i already knew TCCD/TCC5 is a no go unfortunatly, so far only my cheapass G.Skill is able to run 100% stable

But indeed, three boards dying is a bit weird ... mine works perfect except for the ram probs.

Memory picky, the Expert. My G.Skill HZ is rock stable (what's that, UCCC?) at stock 250 3-4-4-8 1T. But my other Expert has Z503 Ballistix and that goes BSOD about once a week and needs retuning, it's a pain.
