    6600gt burned -> PICS HERE warning 56k !

The card does not work well. It appears the full screen of devices. The ventilator of the card let work and the card warmed up much. The chip has died?

same here. the green around the core looks a bit dark and dull, but i cant really tell because of the impression. you might have jusr screwed the ram.

Look at the left side, upper corner of the core. It`s cracked.

Some components are missing on the card, if I'm not mistakin. Looks like some caps are missing and perhaps some other parts, too. I don't have anything to compare the pics to. But someone definately hand-soldered on that PCB. I highly doubt that it came like this from the factory.

shouldnt it have a PCI-e power connector on it?

No, the 6600GT doesn't have that. It doesn't draw much power anyway.

It doesn't look too good either :p

66gts have this nasty habbit of dying after some time. I have a dead Gigabyte card here myself
In short, both AMD and NVIDIA discovered that their next-generation graphics cards are superior to each others' last-generation graphics cards.

the card looks dirty, fingerprints all over the card...

maybe try to clean the card first.

    Here's what I recommend:

    1. Get a bottle of 90% Isopropyl alcohol. Pure acetone (nail polish remover) should also work.
    2. Get a roll of paper towels.
    3. Take one paper towel, saturate a corner of it with alcohol.
    4. Scrub vigorously the areas around the chips that control the memory and gpu voltages. Also scrub the components opposite each the ram chips. As your paper towels shreds, soak a fresh corner and continue. IMPORTANT: Don’t put your hands or fingers on the freshly scrubbed areas!
    5. Get a clean paper towel and rub vigorously, sopping up all the alcohol. DO NOT BLOW ON IT TO DRY!
    6. Hold up the board at an angle and look for any traces of residue. Use a magnifying glass if necessary. Repeat steps 4 and 5 is any residue is detectable. The board should look absolutely shiny.

    good luck.

And what is cleaning good for when components are missing?
