I have two of the Scythe SFF21F 63cfm model on my BIPro II and I am very happy with them.

the 45CFM scythe makes the same amount of noise as a YL D12SL-12, and costs 1/3.

scythe are good fans but they pulled the noise stats out of an alternate dimension or something.

What are you most interested in?

I've found a lower voltage Yate (Nexus branded) to be very quiet, but not move much air. Conversely, a 1200RPM S-Flex, when undervolted to acheive roughly 800RPM (the same as the Nexus, or a Yate at 8v) puts out a bit more air and is a touch quieter in my samples.

Fan choise is generally subjective, as are the ratings. There is, unfortunately, no consistant standard by which CFM/DBa numbers are measured, so message-board opinion can be more important to the end user than random company numbers.

Most after quiet around here prefer the Yates for their balance of price/performance/noise.

haha, i know companies always exaggerate on their noise tests that's why i needed to ask for experience.

anyone own a shuttle? Said to be "quiet", but really sounded like a vacuum.

Most of the time, you're right.

The S-Flex 1200RPM, though, is quieter than a Nexus when undervolted. Of course, it also costs twice as much as a Yate...

Also, I've experienced very little sample variance with the Scythe fans.
