So hicookie, FCG is the Conroe XE dealyed, not launching any more on the 5th of june ?

I wonder why Intel isn't pushing the Core architecture into the market more agressively both in price and frequency. Does this table have any decent or up to date information ?

i965 is more cheaper than i975.

and oc limit is the same.

The roadmaps that we are seeing are initial releases. Intel is clocking Conroe at a very broad spectrum. Give them time to decide what they want to do. I think we will end up seeing faster Conroes after all, the new stepping of woodcrest and its power saving should extend to Conroe IMO being that they are based on the same architecture. I also think that Intel wants to see what AMD's K8L is capable of before actually ramping up clock speed aggressively.

FYI, nothing was ever launching June 5th, that is just the rumored date of NDAs being up, not a product release.

On topic...thanks for the info, hicookie.
Get a good air cooler lieka Arctic Cooler Freezer 7 Pro or something and yes thanks for the info. It's dissapointing but not supprising either. grrr. I am annoyed. Why can't intel just beat AMD by 50%? huh? Maybe this means a lot of OC room for us... good lol.

875 o/c'd better usually than 865, though not by much.

I would think the trend would continue.

yea but 865 came before 875, this is the opposite.

Kinda... what I read is that the current XE = 2.93 @ 1066 PSB rather then the original 3.33Ghz 1333 PSB we were originally expecting...

so is the E6800 you are talking about?? like instead of Intel Core 2 XE 3.33Ghz 1333Mhz bus speed , they will release the E6800 which clock at 2.93G with 1066Mhz bus speed???

no, intel core 2 xe will be 2.93G with 1066FSB + HT

then in Q4, E6800 will come out 2.93ghz/1066(no HT)

Then in Q4, Conroe XE 3.03ghz/1066FSB will come out so XE is faster than E6800

Then in 2007, Conroe XE 3.33/1333 will come out.

It doesnt matter, XE will have unlocked multi and have HT, other conroe will not have HT as far as I know.

No hyperthreading in the Core Microarchitecture, creates hotspots within the chip.

    3.03GHz isn't possible on a 1066FSB, its a half multiplier. (266 x 9.5)

People should really stop posting up crap and stating it as fact.

    There is no 3.03=P 11 X 266.7 = 2.93GHz and 12 x 266.7 = 3.2GHz skips 3GHz. To get 3GHz is 10 x 333.3 3.3GHz and 9 X 333.34 = 3GHz. Now that 9 X 333.34 was supposed to the E8000 XE. Just round the numbers.

What I saw and was told, unless Intel did a name change, that's quite possible. 2.93GHz Conroe is NOT an XE model. The XE version was 3GHz 333FSB just like the Woodcrest model Intel already demoed. There are several ES chips that have no OEM/Retail equal like the 4MB 2.13GHz, we all know this model will only feature a 2MB L2.

I also saw/thought that ALL XE models will be numbered E8xxx and that the 3.33GHz model is not an 8000 but something E8400 or 8300 or etc.. Now I could easily miss-read what I saw and be 100% wrong here. Or the Chat with the Germans mean just what Intel says when they say Roadmaps are forward looking and can change without notice.

Many Webmasters and reporters are saying/speculating that Intel will launch the XE first for maximum profits. Then they'll ship the other 4 Conroes a few weeks later. I hope not. The Lowest XE from a chat I heard about was E8000 and it was SUPPOSED to be 3GHz 4MB L2 and yes 333MHz FSB (1333), not 266 (1066). I was told to look at Woodcrest for clues. Sounds like Intel went back to the drawing board?

I'm only interested in E6600 anyway.

Last but not least, Conroe supports Hyperthreading? Will there be a Core Solo version with Hyperthreading?

HT2 is very real. Conroe XE has Hyperthreading. 2 physical, 4 logical cores. The XE model will move from 2.93/1006 in Q3 to 3.33/1333 in Q4/Q1'2007. Don't be so quick to assume that every uncredible news source is always 100% correct. Things change too, what was true yesterday isn't always so today.

OMG! You mean to tell us that there is EVEN MORE performance to Conroe per clock than what we have seen so far?

Would be very interested in hearing your sources as this goes against every presentation thats been given in the last few months.

I trust a physical CPU vs a silly presentation.

    http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=31843

    5110 - 1.60 GHz clock, 1066 MHz FSB, $230 per 1K CPU
    5120 - 1.86 GHz clock, 1066 MHz FSB, $270 per 1K CPU
    5130 - 2.00 GHz clock, 1333 MHz FSB, $330 per 1K CPU
    5140 - 2.33 GHz clock, 1333 MHz FSB, $470 per 1K CPU
    5150 - 2.67 GHz clock, 1333 MHz FSB, $700 per 1K CPU
    5160 - 3.00 GHz clock, 1333 MHz FSB, $851 per 1K CPU

It's not like a 3GHz 333MHz FSB is impossible or anything. If anything, it seems as if Intel is holding it back.

wow, that means they are releasing an xe version a quarter earlier then the original roadmaps suggested.

we know so little about the xe version of conroe. i cant wait to hear more info
