This most recent round of chemo did nothing except make me miserable, the mass in my bladder has continued to grow as well as the growth in the surrounding lymph nodes. My oncologists don't feel that there is any more to be done at this stage. Also, my pain has been getting substantially worse and there have been several severe pain episodes in recent weeks which they say are related to the tumor growth. We've decided to discontinue any further treatments because of these developments. They feel that it will be better if they simply focus on pain management and quality of life (translation: keys to the script pad and pharmacy) since treatments have been unsuccessful. The local hospice agency I applied to for help has turned me down since I currently do not meet all their criteria for acceptance so I'll remain on my own for now. I haven't been around much and maintenance of the crunchers has suffered greatly because of recent difficulties but I will continue to do what I can.
    My best to all, Jon

Jon, I don't know what to say. I have not posted up because of this. We all hope we can post up and make things better. Sometimes we cannot. It just is. May God's peace be with you. I hope I can show as much grace as you are.

I had one significant point in my life when I truly accepted my death, was at peace with it, and it was by the grace of God and the skill of my Surgeons that I lived. LMK, if there is ANYTHING I can do to help.

I built my will early in my military life, still knowing I was absolutely bulletproof. Today I have a more realistic will. I have set up a trust for Sarah, managed by my family. It is substantial, but I would guess she would rather have the PITA Dad around....

To the TPU folks who have posted up here, good on you mates!! I had a LOT of fun over in your house when we were there. You folks have a first class team and are always welcome here, and I think, us over at your house. (OK, a proper thumbs up....)

I have had the opportunity to travel about some with a few rigs. I can say, the folks I have met on other teams are golden. The world is not so large when you do this thing we do. I strongly encourage folks to crunch as many rigs as you can, look around at other teams, meet new people, invite them here, and just crunch your butts off!!

    Regards,
    Bob
