Hey guys FYI there is much easier way to convert Vista from IDE to AHCI mode ..
Just Modify the following registry entry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Msahci\Start
Set the Value = 0
Reboot .. change BIOS to AHCI .. Save & Reboot .. and it works !
On other hand, it made stuff all difference to rip speeds .. gained only 15sec SL & 20sec DL .. but Vista seems to boot a bit quicker so I think it helps the HDD
