8800GT voltage mods

i found the ovp mod :p i removed one resistor that was conected to the ovp pin and it had 114k when it was soldered and i replaced it with a 500k Vr and i set it @ 140k now she has ovp from 1.3 to 1.45 Volt i will post photos later today if someone has the same card the strange thing is that the resistor was from the side of the card where the voltera is :/

anyway now i can bench the core @ 870 @ 1.4 volts it's seems a litle crappy but what can i do :p
i need to find caps now :/ anyone know what caps do i need :p ? 1600 μF 6.3V are the ok ?

this is the Ovp for the axle 8800gt

remove the second resistor and solder one 500k Vr trim it to ~200k when it is soldered and you will get ovp @ ~1.45 V trim it to a higher resistor and the ovp kick will raise more

I am looking for pencil or bios vmod for my Palit 8800 GT non refernce cooling. But i can`t take of my cooling system from my card becouse there is a plug.

I personally wouldn't recommend removing the "OCP resistors" (78X) completely - replacing those burned fets are a PITA. Luckily there's another way. The method described in G80 OCP -thread works on G92 based cards too. Basically it means you solder three resistors to the OCP circuit parallel to certain SMCs (surface mount capacitors).

It goes like this:

Note that only the two upper resistors are needed for G92GT as the reference PCB has two active vGPU phases.
Resistor value of 1.2kΩ is not set in stone, lower values cripple the OCP even further, but it is possible adding Rs of considerably lower value would interfere with the controller chip's ability to maintain balance between the phases. Higher value Rs are safe but the gained headroom becomes smaller the higher you go.

Can i shade them with a pencil? I think my ocp kicks in at 1.4v over 840gpu and 2000 shaders, and i'm stuck with it. I'm lazy soldering, i'd rather go for a pencil

Simply: No, it just doesn't work right. I just soldered a couple cheapy Radio shack resistor in parallel and it worked great.

Hey thanks.This is about as good as my camera gets.If you need macros of specific areas i can do that or i can borrow a camera for better pics of the whole pcb.

OK you gurus! Anybody knows how to do the OCP on the Galaxy 8800GT? Mine card is already voltmodded (look at post # 832) and I came to a limit on LN2. It looks like 1.5V under load it the end of this card. Need the OCP mod now.

OCP: find a surface mount resistor connected to pin#35, measure resistance across the resistor (basically between pin#35 and ground). Solder a VR rated ~20 times the measured value across the resistor. Lower resistance to push back OCP trigger point.

About OVP (as per PM)....
Does the card crash if you increase voltage without any load on the GPU?

About OCP/OVP looks like I was lucky, 1.55v on load (aircooled) without any trouble
