wow nice, you get a stack load of small sinks too, looks like the heatsink base is much wider than the normal HR-03 to accommodate the large IHS

I used Arctic Silver Ceramique for everything, and I apologize to ender ahead of time, because this cooler was ato install, and I really dont feel like taking it off and doing it all over. Sorry man. I must mention though, the cooler actually isnt very heavy. The stock cooler for the 8800GTX was heavier than the HR03 without the fan. Overall a drop of 27C was achieved!
Edit: @ Ender, I don't think you should have a problem with the HR-03 hitting the NB heatsink of a XBX2, if you look at the cooler you will see that it only covers half of the video card. I should also mention that my PC is water cooled and there isn't much airflow/movement in the case, so maybe temps could be better.

Nice results.![]()
Only thing I don't like about it is the height.. No SLI possible with that beast.![]()
sooo how far does it oc?

Nice results! Thermalright are certainly doing the business. Now if only they put a fan on it like the stock 8800 so that the warm air is pushed out the case...

Nice results! My idle stock cooler temps right now are the same as your HR-03 Pro temps. idle mid 40's and load is about 59-62c. I can't imagine what temps will be like once I get the cooler. SHould be next week. I'll post here too with improved oc difference compared to stock cooler. it would be interesting to know what your highest o/c was with the stock cooler and if you gained any mhz going to the HR-03 pro. can you please share with us?
I can't overclock because i'm using Vista, still waiting on nvidia. My max OC before was 620MHz core, and 1080MHz (2160) memory. No articacts. I know if I get a case fan in there temps should be better.

you can probably still mount it backwards over the card, like with the regular HR03. mine works better that way anyhow, but i needed to find a way to get airflow on the RAMsinks and VRM's after doing that.Originally Posted by Stabbin
I thought it would fit too, but then I came across this post at SPCR:Originally Posted by hotrodtheman

nice temps. i can't wait until you can see how much it improved your oc.
Important information on the Thermalright website:
"Compatible with Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX video cards only.
For 8800 GTS card, a seperate HSI heatsink is required (available by mid March, free to existing HR-03 Plus owners.)"
its to big and heavy, and ugly
were u at zalman?
Dumbest statement of the day. What is this HSI heatsink, anyway?Originally Posted by tbone8ty

has anybody had any luck trying this in SLi? especially with the EVGA board because i wouldn't want to have it hit the heatsink since i have to mount it with the heatpipes bending over the card.
Emailed Thermalright for clarification... its Sunday now so....Originally Posted by Omastar

a side note for the hsi heatsink for the 8800gts.... in step 5 of the installation document you see the hsi sink.... surely it cant be that different?
