Hipro said the 1333 strap really didnt help his initial results much. So if thats what your waiting for your most likely going to be disappointed. Maybe beta bios 1.3 version 28 will finally make us happy. For me, im almost at my breaking point. I need a P965 board soon or im going to loose it. I might be going commando too.

Are you running you memory at 1:1 or 4:5?

Tried both and no success. I think i am the unluckiest mo*******ker here on XS. Bought a mobo that wont go over 360fsb+bought a crappy e6600 that needs 1.5Vcore for 3.2ghz.

Okay, hope I am not shooting myself in the foot. I have never really been concerned with 400+fsb on my board because I had a 6800 running 387x11 no problem 24/7. I came across a 6700 for a super deal so now I am going to sell the 6800 and put a few pennies back in my pocket for c2q eventually. I am hoping I can get close to the same clocks I was getting with my 6800 (4.25ghz stable 24.7). I don't have the chip yet, but have been trying to get 425fsb blend running 10x425 on the 6800. By the way I am running a mcw30 on the chipset right now. Orthos hardly makes it 15 minutes at this speed. However....

The new multi threaded prime95 made it close to seven hours. Check out eva2000's post if you havent already. Might prove to be a little more useful than orthos. I set prime95 on priority 9 for the screen shot below. I will let you guys know now that I am in the fsb challenge as well. Hoping new bios or strap will help but so far that doesn't look good. P5B is looking better and better by the day, I just hate to have to re-insulate a board. This was my first time insulating and I nailed it spot on, no issues for 2 months so far.

i have'nt run that high yet but i think i can manage near 500 fsb if i tuned in mch and vfsb and mem volt atleast i hope so, my EXTREEM are pc2 6400 4-4-4-10 but i can run them at 3-3-3-8 but not that high on that speed i reach about 440-450 fsb after that i have to loosen the timings, and i always run them at 1:1 no divider at all...

I'm having some problems with this board...i'm capped around 420 FSB, no matter what.
I didn't get a single MHz watercooling the chipset, so i decided to make vmch mod (with the booster mod aswell)...still no gains, same overclock as 2.0 volts. Going below 2v, instead, it starts loosing stability.

I was going to make the vfsb mod too, but i'm thinking there must be something else...maybe my 6700 has a fsb wall at such a low bus frequency? Did any of you experience something like that? I'm testing at 6x multi.

It's not possible to reach the same clock with the stock cooler (and the insulating pad there was) at 2.0v and with chilled water at 2.3v...

Any hints?

Another little thing: isn't the board supposed to give upto 1.725v to the cpu? I can't set the vcore over 1.6625

Can anyone tell me if it can be a CPU matter or if modding the vfsb would be worth it?

I was planning to get a new board because of that limit, but if it's the cpu...i would just trash money :\

yes maybe vfsb mod could help you, but my board do unmodded 440-445fsb, and when i set mvch to 1,80v vfsb to 1,45 i can reach a bit higher so it maybe help you with you're issue...
are you sure you measure out the real volt from spots on the board so you dont trust bios or other volt program..

For Conroe, this is my board! But for Kentsfield, I am still with a trusty and reliable Bad Axe 2.

I hope Abit improves their board better in their future boards. These new bios is just so freaking long to release, it's not worth the wait anymore.

I will relegate this board as an uber Conroe board, but not as good for Kentsfield.

question, what if memtest gives you no errors...super pi 32m goes thru w/o an error...but running 2 instances of super pi 32m at the same time errors out "not convergent in sqr05" (the 2nd instance usually errors out). What do i make of that?
edit: i also get errors running the windows version of memtest (hci memtest).

Im currently at 378fsb, 1.35vcore, 1.70mch, 2.2vdimm...about 35c idle, 45-47 load.

edit2: nvm, i ran memtest overnight and got errors in test 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8....

i've just put in my x1950 master card yesterday, question is there something in bios that i must changed so that it run properly, tested 3dmark 03 at 762/1082mhz and only manage 35800points cpu at 3760mhz all on air ofcourse, if there's someone who know's that i'd appreciate help very much.

EDIT and the master runs very hot but that could be so that it maybe nott get that good cooling as the slave, i have modded on a cpucooler and mem hs but mem runs hot aswell, when slave mem is totally cold...

Move your superpi.exe in two different folders.!!!!! (I had the same problem)
For windows memtest errors try uping mch voltage and vdimm.

Ah, didnt think of that. Well after getting a ton of errors on memtest last night in dual mode, im gonna go home and test out each module individually and see what i get.

BTW, u and me have almost the same system

edit: another question, when im doing the OC, is it ok if i change the voltages etc thru windows uguru and then testing again? Or is it better to restart and go into bios and change it?
