Prime temp almost reached 50'c too. I haven't tried for 3 ghz on mine because someone is interested in buying it so I don't wanna run 1.5v or so throught it & pass it on. You really ought to consider some form of water cooling. Mine was only $149 & it's doing a fair job
i actually saw the Corsair Nautilis at Frys in houston and was thinkin about. i think the sweet spot for my chip is 2.9 @ 1.475v with mem @ 210 MHz. i can get 2.95 @ 1.55v but its too much. im sure after a month of usage i will probably be able to get there eventually.

I'm not very familar with the that motherboard's overclocking potential. If it wont post after 270HTT make sure your HT multi. is on 4 or 3 to be sure. You can also try to add a little more voltage to the chipset maybe 1.6v-1.7v.My guess would be that your board or psu are not gonna let you see 2.7ghz -2.8ghz. But I agree that you should lower you multiplier and raise the HTT and see where it quits.
I thought of the PS being a problem as well. It's a pretty good PS. That's one thing I never like to cheap out on - it'll make or break a system. It ran just fine with my old 3000+ and 6600 and thought I'd see if it still worked. Seems to be running fine, but I've been thinking of going up to an Antec SmartPower 500W. The HTT was at 4X, but I dropped it down to 3 when I jumped up to 2400mhz. Right now I have the chipset at 1.6v. The crappy stock cooler went out so I replaced it with a giant HS from an Intel P4 board that was bad with artic silver compound.

Also I was reading about the processor being an energy efficient 35W CPU. Does this affect OCing it? Does it need that much voltage?

    Thanks much for the help!

35W processor on load? I think not, Opty had 80W efficient versions. 35W is too much.

On TCaseMax (previos page) I posted the results as follows...

    TDP: 35.0 Watts

If this is under load or not, I'm not sure.

If I were to go with an antec psu I would go with their Neo HE Series but they start around $30 more than the one your looking at. But you definitely want one with multiple or dual 12+v rails. Personally if your about to dive into overclocking you may want to replace that motherboard with a DFI nforce 4 ultra-D. You can find 'em pretty cheap on ebay & in various forums & its one the best overclocking boards out there.

    2.8@1.4x1.033 8hrs,(41deg)
2.9@1.425x1.05(45deg) seems to be running ok...

only prob im having is my CPUv jumps (in cpuZ) from 1.440-1.452-1.470 (was going between 1.392-1.408@2.8)

think it's my msi neo4 plat; all rails are solid (.03v movement on the 5)...
might get a cheap oem rdx200...

you said DFI nforce 4 ultra-D's are going cheap nemesis?

does anyone know if collabatory liquid has a wear-in period?

Your using the Expert board. Ya kinda have to ignore everyone else's results because the board is way different. Keep playing around with the data strength and driving. I had to set to 9 /1 to get my board to post unless I went 2T. I think your Ram is infineon based so I'll have to look up how to set it. I think Rgone & Angry/Happy games have a post in the overclock database over at dfi-streets. I'll link when their site is back up.

I saw two ultra-d's go for under $75 shipped on ebay. There's someone in the for sale thread selling one too. says he wants to make $80-90 off it. I think its a RMA replacement. I just sold a SLI-DR for $100 myself(bareboard)

hmmm, not sure i could use the ultra-d with my setup... would make swaping out dimm's very painfull (xp-90c)

    EDIT
2906 ran for 2 hours dual prime, temp went down to 44(maybe ambient related)

    2952 1.375x109.9% (1.563-1.472 in cpuz, 1.47-1.49 in CoreCentre) heres hoping i can hit 3g after burn-in under 1.5v

thats strange because i am using a similar mb and same bios. are your OCZ's UCCC? if they are, what are your settings? 3-4-4-8 works best for me. ive managed to tighten then to 3-3-3-8 and had 2.5-3-3-0 stable, but with a lower OC.

Well I got it up to 2640 now. I set the clock multiplier to 8X and moved the HTT multiplier up to 330. I forgot what setting I had it at, but it did post at 2790 at 1.45v, but wouldn't go into Windows. At 2700mhz I got a quick bluescreen and the computer restarted while loading Windows. I backed off from there to where I am now. I don't know if it's memory, the power supply, or limitations of the processor itself.

My voltage is set to 1.42v and was running stable in BF2. I think I need to upgrade the PS still though. I had to drop my memory down and after that I got no errors. In CPU-Z it shows the voltage fluctuating between 1.344 and 1.409 (not sure if this is accurate or not). I've been happy with my AO350 power supply and noticed that they made a new SLI-ready AO700 (700w). It's expensive, to the tune of $150, but I've been impressed that this 350W has done this well.

Temeratures on the CPU reached 47*C under load. A friend of mine has the CoolIt Freezone and seems to like it, although said it could use a larger resovior, but overall works pretty well. I'd like to get my temps down and might either get that or a Thermaltake Silentwater (I don't want anything overly loud or obtrusive).

I could only get my EB's to do 260 at stock... i think it has to do with drive strength and data drive strength(which i know almost nothing about either)
I certainly know of other people(from reviews and forums) with exact same setup as mine to have gotten 275mhz with stock timings...

with some tinkering i've gotten mine to a few mb/s under 3gb/s in memtest... (they are 2300mb/s stock i think?)

Three-hundred-fifty watts is simply does not afford the fluctuation-dampening and stability situations presented with overclocking certain components. Upgrade the PSU to something -- with more power in mind.

can we get a pic of the ramsink mod? :P (i had a similar idea (use for all the real estate on the base of the BT, but i was going to drill-out grooves for the heatpipes on a zalman NB)

    also itznfb:
what cpuV do we quote when listing? cpuz? bios?

Anybody can supply me with the link to the site of Godar, or what's his name?

The one which has a detailed overview CPU / Multiplier / Memory vs. CPU ratio.

Sorry if I got his name wrong.
    Thnx.
