hipro, i tried touching a DMM against jumper pin 4 and it wasn't reading it correctly, unless it was touching something else..

is this supposed to give a reading, or am i probing it wrong?

I see you have covered with hot glue the transistor you shoud get the reading of.....

Try the black cable to ground and the red one on one pin of the jumpers OR on one side of the CB4 or C7 .......they are over the fsb pins....

did only vcca mod (resistor) max boot improved to 280MHz, max OC with inbox was 2.96 before and 2.96 after.
must add those caps then... but i don't think they improve overclockability.. much

I stuck in my 750 and can boot to 245 with no jumpers

    really wanna try 400fsb jumpers..

my zalman 7000alcu's clips (the things that go across the retention bracket and ther screws go into) are busted, the thread is all screwed up so when i tighten, it just lets go and wont screw in

    now back to stock cooler

A little summary first....ASUS technicians when they built the adapter, had in mind that it will work with the ULV DOTHANS as well.....ULV Dothans are the ones which wants about 1Volt VCore to work.....There are some pins on the DOTHAN CPU that need 1.5Volts for the ULV DOTHANS and 1.8Volts for the "regular" ones.....ASUS gives ONLY 1.5Volts on the adapter.....These pins(of the Dothan) are for it's internal fsb to work properly - in simple words - ).....They are called "VCCA" pins....By giving 1.5Volts at those pins, Dothan CPUs are "underclocked" as for their fsb and functionality.... ....So giving @ 1.8Volts, we can work with our Dothan as they should.....
Checked the three docs about 130 nm B1, 90 nm B1, and 90 nm C0.

    -Dothan C0 533 MHz uses Vcca = 1.5 V. Page 22.
-Dothan B1 400 MHz uses Vcca = 1.8 V. Page 28. The LV and ULV parts in this doc could use either 1.5 or 1.8 V, note 8, page 31
    -Banias B1 400 MHz uses Vcca = 1.8 V. Page 25.

So the adapter seems to designed for the latest 533 MHz Dothans which is the only type that uses 1.5 V only, you're actually overvolting it. This could mean that you will see the greatest increase in speed with older 400 MHz Dothans and Banias, since they are designed for 1.8 V and gets undervolted in the CT-479.

I'm not telling you that it won't work or something like that, and you've all overvolted CPU's before. I just thought that you should be aware of the fact that you're doing a 20 % Vcca overvolt.

hipro5: Could one put all the capacitors on an extra board and then just solder a few wires to the appropriate spots? I ask this because the SMD-thingies are order-only stuff at my local shop and this way I could make the mod easy for me. If it's possible, which side of each added capacitor is the "hot" side so I get the polarity correct?

@ Mats....Yes I've read the manuals too - some time ago - Both have the same architecture so I don't think that it will harm them......As a matter of fact, I'm working with my 770 right now benching 3D, at 2.05VCCA....

    I don't think you understand.
If the thread is destroyed in the aluminium pieces and you can't tighten the screws (that's what you said!!!),
then use longer screws that goes straight through the aluminium pieces and put nuts on the underside.
Do you know what I mean?

Way more hassle, I dunno. Just bring one clip to a hardware store and buy it. Put the nuts on the underside with some glue so you won't drop them all the time. But yeah, an AMD friend would be your best friend, he might have a pair. I have two unused, I'll bring them next time I'm in London, if you can wait a year or so...
