Is this a parallel or series setup?
So plumbing the second MCR420 in series is only going to net about a 10% improvement?
I'm waiting for my hardware to get here to re-plumb my MCR320 sandwich in series, as I haven't gotten very good performance in parallel.
Just wondering if anyone else has run them in series yet,...
Bang for the buck is where it is for me, for sure. Even if I end up having to break up my loop, or just run my sandwich in series flow, I'll still end up having spent far, far less cash on my setup...
NaeKuh, it looks like you are exactly right. At least, with the results I've gotten from my rad sandwich so far.
It's been surprising what's happened.... to me, at least.
When I first setup the...
You certainly won't catch me laughing. It's saved me from having two loops instead of one. Very good idea and solution.
There's the man! That would be great, skinnee!
Dangit, now I might have to take mine apart and re-plumb it for series flow. These questions must be answered! :D
I actually did take a Thermodynamics class, and I had to drop it 'cause I just...
Great info, thanks for that! If that post you referenced is correct, then the SLI fittings you linked to would work perfectly. I'd order them right now, but then I would have to take the whole thing...
That would be great, but it would only work for guys with 38 mm fans. The SLI fittings are too long even at their shortest to work with 25 mm fans.
I'd love to see that comparison, too. I'm not sure that you could manage to plumb it up for stacked series flow. At least, not with 25 mm fans. You would also have to put in a bunch of 90 degree...
I have and use both Ceramique and AS5. I like them both. I tend to use the AS5 on processors, and the Ceramique on RAM, etc. The Ceramique is much thicker than AS5.
For every opinion there's always an opposite. :D I did use the included fittings, but I don't keep much in the way of spare WC hardware laying around. Fans, wiring, old hard drives, monitors, more...
Huge +1 on that.
I installed my Swiftech MCR 320 Stackable on to my MCR320-QP-K night before last. I'm thrilled with the results so far. I only have three fans on the sandwich right now, and I'll...
OK, to start off, this is exactly why I will continue to buy and use Swiftech products. It's not often that the CEO of a company will come to a forum and give responses to his customer's concerns....
That is completely correct. I kinda wonder if I'm losing cooling ability by running them as intended (stacked and parallel) over running them in series, but it's just so convenient having them...
core i7 920 OC'd to 3.6 and a single EVGA GTX295.
Water blocks are a Swiftech Apogee GTZ and EK GTX295 wb., then of course the rad sandwich, which is 2 Swiftech MCR320's. This is all one loop,...
They certainly *look* the same. And for such an amazing price, it would be worth it even if they didn't last as long as the real SFF21G does. Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to throw down the cash on...
OK, I've been playing around with my new Swiftech rad sandwich for most of the day. Some random thoughts about it...
1. As mentioned, it did not come with the instructions it was supposed to have....
Yup, positive. I searched the box looking for them. I kinda figured that the .pdf file from your link was supposed to go to the printers and then included with the radiator.
You know, you could...
I'm running three G's (with six more in transit) on an old Zalman fan controller. I really like the G's. So much that I'll have nine of them on a rad sandwich controlled by the same fan controller....
I got mine from Jab-tech yesterday. My only complaints: It didn't come with instructions or the required tubing. Small annoyances, really, but the instructions really would have been handy for...
Actually, with that many fans and rads, I can turn the fans down to where I can't hear them and still have huge total CFM air flow. My WC setup is completely silent now. When I was just running three...
That Feser 360 looks great. All of the reviews I've seen have been very positive, as well. However, the MCR320 is an inexpensive, good performing alternative. I bought an MCR320-QP-K and an MCR320...
When I'm done, it'll be nine Scythe SFF21G's. Right now, it's three SFF21G's, and a hodge podge of various old 120mm fans found in various old computer cases and boxes.
