Yes it runs but it does not install anything, and it does not need comp mode.
Try the parameters and you will see it install alot of things, not just a sec with nothing and its done.

Dont know what chipset you have.
You can force intel inf to install with the parameters -overall -overide on setup.exe
Other chipset .exe you can try running in vista mode to make installer...

Windows 7 is to me the fastest i ever tried! including those XP lite and more..
