Well lapped the block. Temps are now ~49-51º (ambient is probably 3-5º less than when it was 62-3º CPU temps yesterday).

Bit of a long lapping session, the block was far from flat.

    Also water...

Bah, don't know what's wrong atm.

Just lapped the CPU and put on Coolloboratory. Temps still 60-63º (read via core temp while running orthos), which is what the temps were before lapping and using...

Well I'm not too pleased with the thing right now.

I think the coolab stuff will be fine. Block base is all copper etc.

Just not sure how much pressure I can apply to a Core 2 CPU. Also got no idea on the rating of these springs.

Already had a look at that, and they don't give any direction of what pressure to use.

I just tried to turn the block and I can. Does this mean it's not mounted hard enough? I'm new to IHS CPUs...
  6. XSPC X2O Delta CPU mounting pressure (Core 2)

Just built my new system (E4400, 8800GT) and watercooling loop.

CPU block is the XSPC X2O Delta. It came with no instructions and I'm not sure how much mounting pressure to use. Does anyone have...

I originally made a collet that fit into a drill chuck, but it would occaisonally spin in the chuck - which was bad for the the chuck and gouged the metal on the collet. Needed something that could...

    Slitting Saw Collet

A while ago I got hold of some slitting saws, but had no way to use them on my mill. I'm making some new blocks soon with a diamond pin design - slitting saws are perfect for doing these, so it was...
  10. 8800 series mounting / heatsink / cooling dimensions

I'm intending to upgrade very soon, probably grab an 8800GT or GTS

I want to incorporate it into my watercooling, and make my own custom block and ramsinks.

However, I'm struggling to find the...

    Anyone else attempted this?

I'm attempting this on a stick of HyperX. Unfortunately it won't post in my NF7-S.

I've tried taping the pins except for 89-92 and 181-184. That didn't work :(

    Any further ideas? Particular...

I still find it hard to believe that compressors don't have a label somewhere about the ports, or that it's not in the basic documentation. It's bloody rediculous.

It is not made by hand. You would have to be insane to use a manual mill to mass produce products. It costs a fair bit due to the amount of machine time (A lot) + materials etc.

Running from one rad to the next would be running in series, and stupid.

By running in parallel, as Kommando is, you don't have as much resistance and you still get better cooling.

So that fan is still plugged into the same plug?
Put the heatsink back on, and go into BIOS. There should be an option concerning no boot on lack of CPU fan or heatsink or similar.

Was -19C as low as it was going? Insulation also makes a big difference.

I'd say 7m is probably too restrictive, at a guess.
