I mean, for an unsuspecting customer it surely sounds like an upgrade going from GTS 250 to GTS 450. I hope reviewers will point out this branding madness from both vendors. I hear rumors that AMD...
But isn't it NVIDIA that touts GTS 450 as a direct upgrade as GTS 250? I thought I saw a Powerpoint slide. That slide should be then considered misleading at best.
Running DDR3-1066/CL5 doesn't seem to cripple 2000 MHz NB.

Actually the above review might be to Leeghoofd's likings. ...
AnandTech reviewed it.

Interesting. I had a C3 955 BE for a brief period and unlike my C2 it clocked easily 4.0 GHz and beyond so I thought AMD had fixed the infamous 4.0 GHz/64-bit wall with C3. Of course E0 Thubans are...

Those are some mind-blowing performance figures from a chip that'll cost less than $200.
Dual-LAN is pointless on a desktop board. I'd take a solid NIC over flaky dual NICs anyday. Said that, I suspect the reason for a single NIC is that 800 series chipsets are supposed to sport AMD's...

64-bit OS? Well then I'd just leave it at 3.8 GHz. Apparently there is an errata that AMD hasn't fixed with Deneb and 64-bit OS.
Are the two PCI Express slots equal in terms of usability? Or is the first slot 'Master' slot? And if so, can you use a lone video card in the 2nd slot? (x8 electrically, I guess)
955 BE @3.6GHz w/ 8GB of DDR2-800 gave me about 45GFlops.
This is an absolute craziness. I can't believe that I'm seeing 3.60GHz NB there.. is that correct? What's the batch #?
2.9GHz NB under air cooling is IMPOSSIBLE. Unless you have some 'exotic' air cooling or air itself. Of course this is XtremeSystems and I know some might disagree, but for normal folks with 70~80F...
Same here as CPU-NB voltages works fine. I didn't even bother to look at software reading until I read this thread, but it has got to be working because I have to raise that voltage to go higher...
People, Linpack should be run with HT OFF. That's why you seem to be fine in Linpack yet fail in Prime. Linpack is one of those apps that are so well optimized for multi-core CPUs that...
Oh and Tony.. what memory would you recommend for this board? If you don't mind.
What's the temperature of this board like? That's the only thing that holds me from pulling the trigger on this board. I mean, supposedly 790FX and SB750 have very low TDP (both below 10W iirc) so...
I have a DDR2 version of this board (790X-UD4P) and I experienced one of the most strange things (not necessarily in a bad way) from a BIOS flash. After flashing to F5A, I saw this EC Firmware thing...
Well that was a laugh at ASUS engineers. Thanks for the heads-up. I wonder if this is the same thing as in "EC Firmware" in Gigabyte BIOS.
'Unleashing' Mode?
Highest I can do with stock everything (except the heatsink, I used Scythe Samurai) is 3.60GHz core and 2.25GHz NB. Stable for everything I've thrown at.
