Completely agree with all of this.
Even looking at the cooling on the VRM shows it wasn't designed for the high current draw of FX. Coupled with the lack of LLC (bad design decision) on V1.0...
My GA-990FXA-UD3 has just blown some VRM and taken out my 8120. It might have been the other way round but based on how hot the VRM were getting i doubt it.
I've managed to see a Crosshair V and a...
One of my mates had this problem on an A8N32-SLi motherboard....random BSOD at stock even after swapping out components for known good ones.
Through a process of elimination, turning 'things' off...
Of course it wasn't big enough.....otherwise people wouldn't be arguing about how it was too low a sample number to be representative. Have you read and understood what people have been writing all...
Isn't this EXACTLY the point AMD are trying to demonstrate to people?

I found that memory wasn't stable until F6c and was affecting my...
Not sure how the Sabertooth displays CPU voltage but my 990FXA-UD3 shows the turbo voltage as CPU VID until turbo is turned off and then reboot back into bios shows actual stock CPU VID. I also get...
I saw a review where the reviewer had an FX (retail) that had 24M of cache rather than 16M. Could another 8M of L3 be those missing transistors? I wouldn't know so just asking the question.
Could...

I've pretty much given up on unlocking Phenom (as i'm definitley getting an FX of some description) on this board and was more wondering about the FX...
Thank god work is being done on memory compatibility.....right now it is SHOCKING.
890GPA-UD3H with Athlon x2 5200+ and F3-12800CL7D-8GBXH ram gave 3.95GHz on unlocked cpu (became x4 with L3...
Ok, bit of an update here of my testing with UD3 over the last couple of days.
F3g beta bios didn't make a difference to me.....couldn't overclock well at all and bios definitely feels buggy. F3...
When i got my board i went straight to F3f and then onto F3g so i can't comment on the changes to F3b.
I don't see anything different between F3f and F3g with both having some sort of HTT wall at...

While looking for an '890' board to tide me over until bulldozer, i was checking out the Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H.
On the product page for this...
My NB hits a wall at 2400 on a JR 790GX-M2RS with 720BE. Won't go above this at all with multi or HTT increase.
My RMA was sweet and i'm in UK too.
Got the board from Scan and since i live 20mins from their store just went to their returns desk. Couldn't have been any easier.
Now the RMA i had to do with...
