Great work on that wood finish and interesting way to place the PSU, I'l be following this. :)
I'm not so sold on the brass detail yet but I'm sure you'll make it look great.
I get what you're saying, but I'd rather stick on an adapter than firmly solder something in place if the adapter works just as well.
But I do need a soldering iron. :p:
I've decided to order a 2-pin to 3-pin adapter cable so that I won't have to do any modding to my fans (don't even own a soldering iron).
Right now I'm also looking mostly at the Noiseblocker...
Thanks for the reply!
Looking at the 1200 and 1700 RPM model Slip Streams, they seem to be farily good fans. The 1700 RPM model starts at 2.5v as well, which is great for a PSU.
The Scythe...
Hey guys,
the fan in my Corsair HX850 is driving my nuts. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just by far the loudest thing in my system, so I can't RMA it, etc. I've done a fan swap before in my...
Argh, crashed again. Not during load or anything, whilst starting a random program. Back to using my 9800GTX until I figure it out. Time to return the card?
Update: I'm using the GTX480 right now, and I'm in 640x480 mode. Not very pleasant to look at. The temperatures are fine, ranging from 35-40 degrees Celsius. No signs of a crash yet, but as far as I...
Sorry for not replying, I've been sick for the last couple of days.
NhocCuteGirlz I've tried it before and it'll still crash. I'll try it again now though.
NEOAethyr I'll do what you suggest....
Just uninstalled the drivers and tried the newest ones (266.xx) that I hadn't installed yet. Still froze after around 5 minutes of usage.
By the way, I have a Corsair HX850 and my computer is at...
Whenever I boot into Windows when using my GTX480, the PC will freeze, usually still during the "Welcome" screen after the log in. There is no restart however, just a complete lock-up.
This stops...
"Ovi" means "Door" in Finnish, so it does mean something. In fact, it's a rather good name, they just can't expect the rest of the world to know the meaning behind it.
With the upswing of HTML 5,...
Just got myself a C300 64GB and it's fabulously fast. Write speeds are modest, but that's to be expected. If you've never had a SSD before, get ready to change your pants when you boot it the first...
All right, another update:
Went out and bought a Corsair HX850 (couldn't be bothered waiting for the AX850 to be available properly here in Switzerland) and a Crucial C300 64GB SSD for a new...
Here's an update:
I tried running Memtest86+ but the computer would freeze before it completed. Also, I tried using different memory and the problem persists. I had enough and upgraded to an i5...
Thanks for the reply, temps seem to be normal, here's a screen:

Seeing as the errors appear to be random, I was also leaning...
Howdy,
For a while now, my pc has been a real pain and oftentimes won't let me boot. It started with the screen not recognizing that the GPU was feeding it any information (screen was black and...
Unlucky, I spent ages coming up with a question. :p:
For sure, however it's almost surprising how many Finns can be found on the internet. Considering there are just over 5 Million of us, we...
Q: How many languages can you speak?
A: Four fluently to the point of you not noticing I'm not native. Swedish (mother-tongue), Finnish (I'm Finnish, from a Swedish-speaking minority, but every...
My 9800GTX decided to give me the finger one time too many last night, so I went out and bought a GTX480. Previously I thought that the highest settings in games were there to piss you off, as a...
All right, thanks guys. I probably don't need more threads, it's probably more future proof though, I'll have to take that into consideration. The G.Skill Ripjaws don't look so bad, a little overly...
I have a pair of Speedlink Medusa 5.1's lying around somewhere and they were the most impossible to calibrate piece of hardware that I have ever had the misfortune to own. The surround sound itself...
All right, now that I have been stuck with the world's worst performing E8400 for almost three years (try 3.8 GHz with just over 1.4V), I have decided that I have had enough and that it's time to...
I don't use RSS feeds and I prefer Twitter, suppose it's down to personal preference. Twitter is fare more mainstream than RSS feeds though.
It would have to be a combination of a tech-news feed and an XS focused communite news agent. It's not uncommon, somebody just needs to be associated to XS and be on Twitter.
