LSI cards, particularly ones re-badged as IBM M1015 are cheap, popular and reliable.
I don't know if these are compatible with your tape drive, you'll have to check first

SuperMicro X7DCL-i
Congrats! :)
pardon my ignorance, hope I do not offend: how do you pronounce their names? :)
yeah that's all LAN, not internet.
if you're after internet, doesn't exist.
LAN, yes
it's a complete crock of bs, no such thing exists
well I posted not a while back for a single 2Ghz CPU as I have one all by itself.. MM didn't get back to me.. if MM or anyone else has a single 2Ghz CPU to give you, I'll give you mine + some RAM.....
well.. this is quite the thread.. :) not sure if there is anything like it anywhere else: hardware c.2006 (iirc), thread made in 2008 & still going in 2014! :woot:
my sossaman is still going...
any performance difference? :)
the shroud looks nice :)
because I'm familiar with it :)
keep in mind that was last year.. sossaman is now my HTPC

anyone have a spare single 2ghz CPU they want to sell/give to me?
TRIM over RAID on X58 is now enabled - in fact anything since P35 is do-able. Just a FYI if you're late like me! :)
soooo can CUDA/GPGPU still be used?
I'm planning on having a nv card & AMD card, to test/use GPGPU stuff
highly likely cause running a RAID array with ZFS on top is virtually a no-no / highly unrecommended! :)
although not on the compatibility list, it could very well be!
Julian! Long time no hear or see!
re: ZFS needing heaps of RAM... bulldust! :) You only need a truckload of RAM if you enable dedup (this is where ZFS/OS checks if you have double+ copies...
that is ridiculously slick! :p:
are the HDD data cables plugged in, in those pics?
*edit* nvm, my forum settings led my astray! :p:
faaaar out! those straight tubes leading into the black unknown, filled with red... soooo darn good looking! :yepp:
8mm heatpipes have been around for years, not new at all

The above pic would be the GUI for an app I would LOVE to have! :)
Across the top...
yeah, a bit like those folk that said that the USA is spying on 'everyone & everything' blahblahblah, pre Edward Snowden days /sarcasm ... & then *BOOM* bombshell
I find it odd that some ppl find 8.1 'so different / superior' to 8  they're the same to me! both 8 & 8.1 are way better performance-wise to 7 - so much more snappier, efficient,...
:( & I just purchased a second 520 120GB for some RAID-0 action!
...now I want this! :p:
